Last Man Standing Competition
Starting Sunday April 19th a new competition will be Livecasted on http://live.myvowclan.de/. Each match will be casted on Sundays between 1800 and 2000 GMT (meaning, at the start 1900 @ London and 2000 @ Europe).
It will work on a pot-base, with a group of people who can earn points each week. All matches are FFA matches, with a finale to find out who is the Last Man Standing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Rules
Pot
1 To be part of the Pot, make sure you are signed in with the Competition Manager, which is me, Kavarf. To do this, read below 'Application'.
2 Only people who are part of this Pot can earn points.
3 If not enough people from the Pot show up, a guest player might participate in the Match.
Matches
4 All matches that are being played are on Free For All-suitable maps.
5 All matches are game-type Free For All. There cannot be teams or alliances ingame.
6 All matches will be played and casted between 1900 and 2100 GMT on each Sunday. At least one match is being played and casted each Sunday, preferable two, depensing on time. It is possible the matches will last a bit longer.
7 All matches are being Livecasted on VowLive, for adress: see top.
8 All matches count for points. For rating-system: see below.
9 Players in the match will be on a 'first come first served basis' with a password that will be provided on Vow Live before the match starts. Pot Players have priority. Players who haven't played that night have priority over players who have.
Extra
** The use of the Seraphim Regen Field (ACU Upgrade) is strictly forbidden, because we consider this an exploit. Anyone using this upgrade will be disqualified for the whole competition and would not be allowed to play further games for Last Man Standing.**
Rating-System
10 The first to be eliminated gets 1 point, the second 2 points and so on.
11 For each ACU killed, you get 1 bonuspoint. Drawing another ACU does not count.
12 The one who is the Last Man Standing of that week, meaning the player who survives the FFA, gets 1 bonuspoint.
13 After each match an update on the ranking of Last Man Standing will be posted in this thread.
14 After 6 weeks there will be either another FFA for the Pot, or we go through to the Finale. This is to be decided on by the Competition Manager on basis of participation and Last Man Standing-rating of the players.
Finale
15 The three highest ranked players in the Last Man Standing-rating will participate in the Finale.
16 When people tie for these three spots, a tie-braker FFA between them will be played.
17 The Finale will consist of two rounds, to be played on the same Sunday.
18 The Finale - First Round will be a three player FFA. The first one out is eliminated. The one who survives this FFA gets to chose his map for the Finale - Second Round.
19 The Finale - Second Round will be player on a map that is to be chosen by the winner of the Finale - First Round. The winner of this one match, winner takes all, is the new Last Man Standing Champion.
Prizes
20 In consultation with the GPG Net Administrators we will try to get the Champion a new and unique Avatar [Confirmed]
21 The Champion holds this Avatar untill the next Last Man Standing Competition, or untill a new Champion is crowned, see below.
22 The Champion is forced to compete in the next Last Man Standing Competition. If he is not able to do so, he must give up his avatar at the start of the new Last Man Standing Competition.
Application
Has Ended.

I'm in too. Please set me in the first match for the lineup. Then I can be sure it won't get too late for me those sundays.
Something else now: beware the time (especially for those who already have signed up): things are more complicated because of that daylight saving idea. It is changed in the OP.

Quick question, will the casts be in German or English?

So 8pm GMT? I'd love to play, even if I lose horribly and my playstyle looks uninspired. Sign me up, I'll try to show up on GPGnet tomorrow.
E: Says my nickname is already in use in the IRC client, just fyi. That's what we need to sign in to tomorrow correct?
E2: How many per game are we going? Up to 8?

E: The namespace for chat names is not just limited to the channel, but to the entire quakenet, one of the largest IRC networks.
E2: Most likely 6, as there are two casters (and livereplay has certain disadvantages).

EDIT: Were you talking about the Funcasts of today? That is at 8pm GMT though, you're right about that.

Wrong again.
No, it's 6pm GMT, which will be 7pm London Time (BST), and 8pm Central European Summer time. It is scheduled to end about 8pm GMT, 9pm London Time, 10pm CEST.

you need a connection for 8 players though, cos I assume the games wont be casted via livereplay. So if you lag in 8 players game, you should not participate, I would say

Since when did you see more than that in a game?

Well, I can't remember if it really happened. But if the games are going to be a 6-player FFA then everything is fine, also with two observers for livecasting. Maybe a 3rd observer can enter as well, but an 8-player FFA with two observers won't really work I think.

Ahh, then I won't be able to make any of them since I work Sunday mornings (Central time zone in the U.S., so like -7 GMT).
