Hey all, its that time again!
First of all: DO NOT press view results if you really want to vote, that will make you unable to vote after!
As promised every 2 to 3 months we have the community poll to decide what maps get in and out.
The vote shall stay open for 9 days from the moment of posting so hurry up!
Only the top3 maps in the poll will get in ranked, bringing the total maps to 16, with as much variety as they can bring and have a good mix of rush, eco, spam maps!
I advise everyone to think a bit about what to vote, perhaps even watch a few replays if they aren't familiar with some of the maps as you can only vote 1 map.
I will continue to read the input from this thread and some things may be changed, provided you expresses yourself in a constructive and proper way.
From community input and advice top players we have agreed that re-add Winter Duel in the ranked poll and as an experiment we are adding Vya-3 Protectorate (witch can be described of a mix of open palms and Sytris Major).
____________
The Dark Heart shall be removed as it was the most thumb down-ed map and because of a few complaints of asymmetry favoring the top-right player.
Now on to the nominees!
Arctic Refuge_Ambush Pass_Crossfire Canal_Saltrock Colony
Sentry Point_Seton's Clutch _Four-Corners _ Sytris Major
Let the madness begin!

Definitely Ambush Pass.
Luckily Saltrock doesn't have the same issue as TDH (since the start positions are set up differently) but Daroza needs to go. The huge amounts of reclaimables are just unreasonable. I have no objection to getting to T3 and T4, but an 8 minute ML without using mexes cannot be a good idea for a map.
And please, don't vote for Seton's just as a joke. Playing a 50 minute game when you expect a ~20 minute one is really annoying, and if everyone votes jokingly, it will win...

What the hell kind of 'top players' told you to use Winter Duel? Is someone not aware that Seraphim = instawin?
Aeon and Cybran, of course, get boned by default if their opponent is not a retard.

'Remove XXX' doesn't cut it
I'd appreciate some well thought out reasons of not having some diversity, namely a map that gets to to T4 regularly, I don't think any of the others get to T4 much.
And with 16 maps + thumb down on daroza, chances are very slim that you will get it.

And we want to do that... why?
Anyway, THX so much Core Commander. This should help to revitalise ranked, and some of the maps needed a change.
Also, Saltrock and ambush ftw!

You want to do that so that if your #1 choice is way way in front, you can vote for your 2nd favorite instead of wasting a vote on one that will win anyway.

That replay is totally inaccurate, Black's opponents clearly sucked and did nothing offensive to him at all, ever. You may as well say that it can be done in sandbox.

I actually realised that a few minutes after posting, but I didn't go back and edit it. (you can't edit rl conversations...)

Seton is a 15-20 min map, start positions make it seem like its 10x10, plus with both comms in middle the one who uses the mass there better will overrun the comm forcing him to water then torp bomber rush it
Of course there will always be the odd long seton 1v1 but most are short.

I'd love to see Varga Pass included, as it is the only GPG made map that has only 1 mex at the spawn and makes for some really nice t1 army macro battles.
I voted Ambush.
An yes, remove Daroza. Games on that map are decided by who can spam power gens faster. ;/

It may not be quite what happens in a real game, but it still shows how ridiculous the rocks on that map are.

Yes, the lack of Varga as an option makes me a sad Panda indeed.

Why do so many high-ranked players ask for Doroza to be removed...if you can get a Monkeylord up in 10 minutes...then DO SO, and win, quickly...Why is this "BAD" why is lots of mass lying around for all players to gather a big, fat negative?
Are you all so set in the T1 Spam mentality that any thing that offers a chance to break away seems strange and frightening...are experimentals or T3 evil vile things you must never use?
No, of course not..so what is it?
In short, why does the one map that offers a different type of gameplay get canned over and over...i find it bizarre frankly...
It's the top players that should be embracing diversity in ranked gameplay, not doing everything in their power to remove it.
jeez guys, and you tell all the lower-ranked players to "L2P"

Uh, the reasons for not having Daroza's include
1. It's a terrible, horrifically unbalanced map
2. The better macro player wins. Period.
3. It takes a long-ass time, and is boring as all hell.
