It is very ridiculous. Each can do 3000 damage to its target. It moves faster than a t1 scout and becomes invulnerable well before it reaches the destination. Each only costs 300mass, the equivalent of a t2 gunship. However, it only lasts like 30 seconds and can't land on staging pads.

Yes, the fuel is hte only weakness.

On any maps smaller than 40x40, I don't image this to make all that much of a difference ;p

~3000 damage from a single unit may be a bit much, but it's not that bad when the unit is a suicide bomber with all of 10 hp. If you don't have interceptors or flak to destroy them then you deserve to lose to them.

The one thing that does bug me about it though it that TMD completely ignores the missile and the projectiles it fires when it goes off.

shields is the only thing that can stop it. Placed 8 T2 AA in a row, they had np killing half the row when sending just 3 of those things. 5 is enough to kill any ACU, 1 to kill a T2 power generator. Without shields they will ALWAYS hit if they are 3 or more. Let the sniping begind anew.

Allso, if you manage to surprise your nme with these you can just send them over one by one to kill T2 gens and then factories. His AA wont matter much and whatever he tries to build you can just kill.

i had 419 T1 fighters and more then enough of these thing got through to kill anything. they can attack Air so Soul ripper and Czar=useless. they fire before they get in range of aa. T3 fighters were killing them but good luck getting enough T3 fighters before someone has 10 of these to kill a com

I beleive T3 Fighters had balance changes in this patch.

Ok it looks like this was fixed. Still, the air speed sounds a little nuts.

The concerns regarding the guided missile remind me of an earlier thought.

What if there were some form of single-target low-DPS high-accuracy AA specialized in quickly eliminating fragile targets such as scouts.

eg. A T2-buildable version of T1 AA with zero firing randomness and increased range & projectile speed, but only 5 damage per second.

Honestly though, commander ganks were already anticlimactic enough. This suicide bomber doesn't sound very well thought out to me. Not at all...

Regarding the missles inability to re-fuel:

You can build them from aircraft carriers and then they dont start consuming fuel until u launch them. This way u can amass a nice lil army of these things without the earlier ones running out of fuel and dying. The're also much easier to get within range of enemy bases this way.

I don't take threads seriously when people aren't even bothered to write up 'imbalanced' properly ;)

But the missile is strong, also because it only takes 50 seconds to build :)
