So I was reading through the comments on a map of my this morning and one of them said "lava is fake..". That's unfair, I thought, there is no "real lava" available..then I realized with the new editor I can change the water settings. What if I could make it look like flowing lava? That would be sweet.

So I did.

There is a small issue with texture filtering depending on the end user's video card hardware, drivers, and settings but it's nothing too major. If anyone manages to figure out how to clear it up a bit be sure to post how.

Use:
Download and extract file
File -> Import -> Water in official editor
Set water depth in water settings

(Marking it with terrain type "Lava" at the bottom of the terrain type list should make it so docks, engies, ships, etc can't use it I think but I haven't tested it. It notes Blocking = "true" under the correct terrain type.)

Sure, but the magic of course is in the fact that it moves.

(Also, don't look for an updated version of that map too soon I'm still busy with DF, but eventually.)

As long as I keep on the schedule I would like to keep on DF I might have some time next week during the beta/fix-up stage to make some changes to Helena's. Would be nice to do some of the things I couldn't do with the old editor as easily.

... its not even a map. However, all of my maps have been marked and tested with Sorian AI as of the time of the release of each map.

Have you been able to complete the map. Just looked at the date, it still looks awesome.
