I've just been killed in the first 2 minutes of the game by a guy who used a instant acu upgrade against me.
He just rushed me with an ACU with rapid fire on, and he says it'll work with ANY acu upgrade.
Needless to say this is very very bad for ranked play. I'm posting this here to get GPG net attention to it as soon as possible.
I'm not sure if I should post instructions on how to do it, so I'll just PM Son of Shagrat, and let this be a warning to you guys. If the oponents ACU suddenly rapes the map ( or is very hard to kill ) you know he's using the upgrade exploit.
I hope GPG fixes this asap.... this is a lot worse then the mex exploit.

Anyone using it ranked play is very likely to get banned. This would a lot easier to spot than the mex exploit.

I'd really like to see a replay of this please, or at least some instructions on how to reproduce it

I just tested it out in a custom game. It isn't that easy to spot because you can give your ACU a free RAS upgrade and the advanced RAS and use those extra resourses in a way that doesn't show very easy like building an omni somewhere or a few ultra quick strat bombers.

It would be pretty obvious when watching the replay when you suddenly have 2000 extra energy and 12 extramass.

Too much trouble imo.

Yeah, I've not even once checked an intire replay to see if my opponent used the mex exploit, for example. I'd rather play another game and get my rating back uo that way then going through all the trouble to report someon and get points back from an admin.

GPG had automated means to detect the mex exploit, so its not unreasonable to think that those means could be modified.

Not saying that I don't believe you, just want some confirmation.

I also had a bug, where one of my SCUs was going for an upgrade (RAS), but decided to move to the next waypoint and upgrade while walking.
Couldn't reproduce it.
It might had something to do that I gave the move command in a queue and clicked the new upgrade-button just shortly before the first upgrade finished.
I do not have a replay of this :<

It was on the front page.
"GPG has begun the process of automated evaluation for all ranked games, starting with the most current games first, to find players that may be using the mass/shield exploit."

Ok I've found out how this is done, the Devs will be informed ASAP.
Don't ask me how, and if you know don't spread around how its done, and most importantly DO NOT use it in ranked games, or any games for that matter!

Instead of saying "someone" used this exploit, can we have some names to blacklist?!

Can you tell us how the exploit was done when it's fixed (ie when it is no longer possible to perform)?

I think they probably want a name so if they show up to a ranked game and see it, they don't stick around and wait for an ACU with the Microwave Laser to walk through their base.
Although I agree not to set up like a blacklist, if someone asks for a name, would be nice if whoever saw it can PM whoever asked so they can know. Already a lot of reasons people avoid ranked games, probably don't need one more.
It's pretty disturbing, but exploits haven't been too bad in Supreme Commander so far, so hopefully it can be fixed with a quick patch (and why not give us back Billy while they're at it).
