me and a friend of mine we just grabbed our old copies of SP:FA and wanted to do some old fashioned Team vs. AI games. Now at first we played vs the AIs provided by GPG (e.g. 1x Rush 1x Normal). The problem was, that at some point the challenge just faded (even in the first game). Once we got the initial attacks under control we could just "outplay" the AI (in a negative sense).
Most things which disturbed me where:
- The AI just kept sending wave by wave of unprotected transporters or some fighters into our AA defense line, instead of setting up a large scale assault which could do more dmg at all.
- I built a satellite control center and the AI not even thought about getting it down, even when the satellite was happyli bombing down his base.
- One nuke and the Rush AI didnt even have a anti nuke defense, so I could easily just wipe her base
- It took the AI ages to react to my ships - almost (or at all) no torpedo bombers and only some battlehips but VERY late into the game.
I guess for the people here these are well known issues, which may already been fixed with some AI mod long time ago.
My question is just: Which AI mod would be the best to go? As far as I can see here in the forums, Sorians AI mod seems to be the best choice, but I still just wanted to ask you more experienced guys to give me some advice !
