I'm tempted to buy this since I recently found myself in possession of an excess $50. Are the servers still shitting themselves, or should I wait a few more days?

They're fine. The problems only lasted about an hour and a half, and even then, it was the middle of the damn night so it wasn't an issue.

Elective Mode helps with the skills a lot, but I often still wish I had more than six. Yeah I'm really loving it as well as ray of frost with that rune that makes it cost 0 AP.

I couldn't feel any attachment to my characters in either beta phase. Is there anything different in the release to add to player-character attachment?

Is this game worth buying? I liked Diablo II, but kinda feel iffy on this one. Also- better with friends or alone? Thinking about buying it tonight

im having fun with the game, playing with friends is pretty fun too, was playing with 3 others last night when we saw a treasure goblin, well, my friend playing the barbarian was off chasing something else while the rest of us chased down the goblin, next thing we know he comes running back being followed literally by like 50 standard mobs and several elites, resulting in some hilarious OHSHIITTFUCK moments.
so in short, im enjoying the game, my friends are enjoying the game, playing solo and with friends is both entertaining(playing with friends tends to generally be more entertaining anyway)

I'm playing D3. I like it. I'm soloing A Barbarian in the regular game just to finish it, then I might start grouping up.
I'm playing a Hardcore Barbarian too, in which I only play group play, with my cousin and maybe a few other friends.
I'm enjoying both.

How easy is it to tell the difference between '5' and '6' in this game? That was a big problem with Diablo II.

Would anyone happen to have a spare guest pass from a boxed copy that they wouldn't mind parting with? I'm trying to get a friend into the game but I bought the digital copy.
I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask...

Hell is pretty ******* ridiculous. There's no way you can possibly survive Champion Fast Teleporting Wallers when they're a tough melee mob type. And then you kill the Butcher and he drops four shitty blues.
I'm really beginning to think that the game was not worth the money. You invest time- a lot- and the game gives you **** for loot back. Here's the deal: I kill, I get loot. No loot -> no point.

Whatever happened to games where the point was overcoming a massive challenge?

No loot -> no point. There's a fine line when it comes to loot drops in games like this. Too frequent drops, of too good items, and the game becomes boring, and you stop playing. Too infrequent, and you give up. But it should be infrequent enough that every once in a long while, you get something really awesome which makes you feel like you've won the lottery, which makes you want to go back and hunt for the next awesome piece of gear. I don't know how many hours/days/weeks I spent farming bosses in Titan Quest so that I could complete certain gear sets or try to find certain scrolls needed to make awesome artifacts. If they had dropped too easily, I would have gotten bored and not bothered with it after a little while.

It's not like this is news anyway since Battle.Net 2.0 passwords were never case sensitive.

The strength of any password anyone with common sense had just fell about 99%
I think that's a problem. Especially since this was not common knowledge until now.
And once again, there is NO excuse for not having case-sensitive passwords.

Itemization is not the best right now. Vanilla D2 had shitty itemization too, but it's no excuse 12 years later, and we put up with it at the time because it was fresh.
On the plus side, it's fixable and the action game is way better than D2. More tactical, more interesting, and just more fun.

And once again, there is NO excuse for not having case-sensitive passwords. This WAS common knowledge to pretty much anyone with BNet account... It's been posted over and over again. There might not be an excuse but you're skating around the fact that you can just get a free authenticator.
