I have the gold version of supreme commander. Installed gold patch. In device manager, I try to update the video driver AT Radeon HD 6770 and it tells me its the latest version. I have the supreme commander shortcut set to run in windows xp sp3 compatibility and run as administrator. I have antivirus disabled. Have latest directx. When I run the game i get an error message "Unable to create direct 3d. Please ensure system has current video drivers". This is where Im at now. I tried installing the ATI Catalyst program which updates your drivers but when I did that the sound was coming out of my monitor at an extremely low level despite everything checking out and trying to correct this. So I did a system restore and reinstalled everything up to where it tells me to update video drivers. What the heck do I do?
What sound card do you have? I remember there were problems with certain sound cards/configurations that produced direct3d errors. Try snooping around the SupCom Tech Support forum for a solution.

Some times supcom fails to install the dx installs or they get damaged. Try this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8109 if that fails it might be your supcom install that messed up and is there any other error message?
