You'll have to ask SE/.

I was hoping for some "unofficial" signs like a twitter post or something from somebody in GPG ^^
I guess if I can't find any information in the internet about a sequel it's because... there won't be any :(

Yeah, pretty much.

SE has taken the ip, and will not continue it most likly.

Also GPG has shown no signs of continuing with another good RTS, KnC seems to be forever on hiatus. So it seems they are dead to.

If you want good games like supcom, I recommend you check out spring, or Sins of a Solar Empire. Those two provide pretty similar things to supcom, and Sins at least is still getting support.

I'm going to fan the flames of forum speculation here: GPG is starting work on their Next Big Thing*.

There's been talk in Off-Topic about GPG recruiting for various positions, and Sorian has made some enticing, yet vague, comments about making a new AI.

*How big the NBT is, and what it exactly is: I do not know. Only time will tell.

We cant help if SE is letting a good game like Forged Alliance swirl down the drain. There was alot of stuff they could do to make FA a best seller again, they just be lazy.

Even if the series goes under like TA (It will always be in our hearts), People will still keep on playing it. As long as the Community is there, FA will never really die =p

So far as I can recall the NBT is a third person RPG.

...Enough said really... If that is true.

True if you consider to "die" as losing the community, but it is very rare that a AAA game loses its community.

The real death is when the AAA business stops supporting the AAA game.

If they had no intent of continuing it, they would not have paid for the right to do so.

That's logical, thus not how things happen in the Games Industry.

i dont think that's a reasonable conclusion to reach. SE acquired the rights to publish supcom 2. to do so they may have been required to buy the rights of the entire franchise (i don't recall). if supcom 2 sales were not high enough for its liking, the universe may be dead in the water.

RTS (probably mostly PC RTS at that) seems like a pretty niche place for someone like SE.

I have similar feelings.

Way back with the announcement of Sup2, I thought; "A Japanese publisher? They must love Humongous Mecha, so they'll make another hard core tank-smashing RTS, and all will be right with the world."

Then after a few of the previews, and a little research into Square Enix, I realised that all they do is kids games and magic titles.

Recent press laments that most of SE's output is now western developed titles from Eidos.

As for mecha, SE has Front Mission. At the time I was pushing for the idea of a new FM game based on the SupCom engine.

Front Mission is the only one I am aware of (incidentally, it was you who first told me about it).
