In the interest of relieving frustration and contributing feedback to the subject, wanted to share that I had the same issue and resolution as explained by donnie53.

Machine Info:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1 64bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 Ghz
RAM: 4.00 GB
GPU: GeForce 9800 GTX+
Gfx Driver Version: 296.10
DirectX Support: 10
Anti-virus: Microsoft Security Essentials

Sorry to reply sooo late!! But I installed on the XP machine (Not Mac dual boot, running again in a virtual environment) and it has so far worked fine, x86 install. So I can only assume that its possibly an issue with x64 installs of win 7 (Possibly other x64's as well).

I had the same problem..... but wen i untick the read only tab of the main folder and applied to all sub folders .... wen i check again the properties read only tab is ticked again..... pls help

You could go, and try contact the online assistance or service, to help you go trough this. It is for sure an internal error, and you cant do much about it.
