I've shifted focus; I'm now working on making it programmable. I think I need a few big multiplexers hooked up in clever ways, shouldn't be very hard to make (And soon, I shall be lost in hours of unforeseen complexities).
What I'm actually here to say, is that I'd like to make a swing. Here's my plan--if current crosses a magnet perpendicularly, the force goes out at a 90 degree angle to both of them. Basic stuff. So, if you take two wires, stand them up out of a breadboard, and put a third wire, with loops on the ends, on the two wires, you can have connection with loose wires. Next, you put a magnet beneath the loop. Boom, now you can run current through the wire, and it'll try to stick up one side or another. Cool enough. The trick, however, is to get it to alternate. Well, I think I could use AC current, but I'm doing this digitally. Mostly. My first idea was with a 555 timer, a not gate, and some grounding system. Instead, I think I'll use a 555 timer, a capacitor, and a diode. The 555 timer feeds into the diode, which feeds into the capacitor, through the swing. When the timer turns off, the capacitor lets go of its charge, sending current through the other way, making the hanging wire swing back and forth. Because I feel like making it. The only job of the diode is to make the chip not short when voltage comes back. I think that this should work--will the buildup on the diode cause inconsistency and error? Well, I'm going to try it tomorrow, so I'll figure out then.
