I namedropped 2 people in a thread because they disconnected and the game fucked up and gave them a minor victory and killed my ranked streak.

I watched your heli rush replay you posted. Played a 2v2 the other night when they tried the exact same thing. fully-vetted chapperels were awesome

Yeah veterancy affects base accuracy for SAMs it looks like, like how it affects base optics range on recons and base accuracy on cannons.

And yeah, I've had success on ranked by not buying anything at the start apart from 2 recons and just seeing what kind of rush I'm expecting and then counter it straight off the bat. When I'm against someone who runs a balanced force though I'm at a slight disadvantage for map control since I'm slightly behind on getting units up there - its not a massive difference though as the maps are huge.

I played against a level 51 guy who was 400 points ahead of me ranking wise and absolutely molested me. I matched against him twice in succession then said fuck this.

Check out this replay of mine against someone ranked a couple of hundred points higher -

I get absolutely jizzed on at the start then I pull it back with some VSTI and Leopard 1A1 micro and batter him and pull off a win.

At the start on the right, I lose recon on him to the strops, I prepare for him coming straight down from Mike but he takes the forest. After he falls back when its clear im too dug in for attack he pulls back - but I cant get my recon over it so I'm attacking the forest until I go DERP hes not even there and leeroy his base. His flanking on the left almost gets me but I spotted it with my recon chopper early and managed to get some defenders there.

Now trying to micro 2 fights at the same time I lose track of logistics and force north runs out of fuel! Not too bad though as they are in the heart of the enemy base and just sit there shooting whatever is in range.

The points tick over 1500 and chalk a major victory up for me.
