Well if you're gonna boycott Devs and Pubs that don't support their games for at least 5 years, you can only really play Blizzard games then, actually that's a lie, they didn't patch Lost Vikings at all, only released it for new platforms, guess you're outta luck and gotta find a different hobby.

THQ had and have many problems.. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=56115 ,it wasn't really unexpected from THQ(my opinion) and I'm pretty sure that GPG would like to patch their games a little little bit more than what we got.

I think GPGnet was online long enough for it wasnt visited by so many players lately. There were other games, with lots more players, that closed their online service much earlier

We can play Supreme Commander with Steam all together again. I have Installed Steam, Activate my Forged Alliance CD Copy like other games in Steam and Download all files. It runs without any problems. I like GPG much more, but what can we do.

I've played this game since i was 13, Iv'e meet people who i know will be life long friends from all over the world. a truly in depth game with so much to it, It's a sad day when one of the best games out there is shut down. I'll miss the days where you can log in have a laugh, then go kill some people in an Isis, Setons or what ever

Glad i got to play this game while it was in its peak and I would like to thank the developers for Such an awesome game and all the people inside the game who made the community so fun.

I'm so pissed of right now. Seeing the greatest RTS game ever going down like this is just painful. 1st it lost support as GPG and THQ butt ****** each other. Then THQ decides to shut down GPG client without any warning. All the time and effort the GPG community put into making this amazing game even better ( which should have been GPGs job). e.g. TAG_ROCK, Moritz and CC with fa ladder - Voodoo, Kocher And Luxun with APC, ZePilot with FAF, all the mod and map authors..etc There isn't any other game that the community put so much effort into. And they can't be ****** to give us any WARNING at least that GPG is going down. What if we didn't have mapacks and mod packs? Would've lost everything... GJ THQ! ******* well done! I hope they'll soon face some serious financial problems and will be out of business.

And now to those who were so against FAF. What would you do now if faf didn't exist? go on the shitty steam networks? Crying about that FAF divided the community... You wouldn't have a ******* community if faf wasn't there... So go to Zepilot and his team and thank them for all the effort they put into faf!

As FAF won't need to be gpgnet-compatible, it's almost a blessing for modders, as FAF doesn't have some of GPGNET restrictions.

Stop playing FA and looking for new games.

Well, normaly I wanted to keep out of this toppic until we have some new informations, but reading the things in here makes me do it anyway.

I'm wondering why everybody takes this as GPGnet funeral. What we know is that the Main-Server is down (proudly presented by THQ...) and the future is up in the air.
Without spreading too much informations which arent sure: We currently dont sit there "oh, they shuted it down? Too bad, lets hang heads and keep sitting around"
So guys, do me a favor and just be a bit patient until there are some new informations.

Ah, and @Zep: I wont even honour your ridiculous try to "offend" me, by quoting stuff out of the context, with any answer. Just so far: There was nothing that made me change my oppinion, neither I regret anything of what I said.
However, as I already said once... or twice.. well, perhaps more often than this: if you have a problem with me personaly, do me a favor and dont spread stuff on public places. I know, offending me seems to give a really big satisfaction, but however, I don't do that so please have this bit of decency to also don't.

GPG, would it be possible for you to host all the content from the vault somewhere? Maybe an FTP server so I and others could download all the maps and mods that may not be in the FAF vault.

Yeps, we need to salvage those mods (I think all the maps are safe in mappacks)

Even though I stopped playing FA a while ago this is still pretty weird news to hear.

I won't be coming back to FA until it stops being polluted by Rock and his band of merry bum bandits though, and since he still plays TA I don't think that will be any time soon.
