Heyas!
I decided to come back to the game after a bit of a break. I downloaded FAF and installed from the msi. When I run the lobby it asks me for username and password.
Er, which username and pwd is this? Is the old one associated with the old GPGNEt lobby (and thus your original SUPCOM account details?)
Because its telling me "Login not found or password incorrect. They are case sensitive"
I tried registering on faforever.com and made an account, tried logging in with that and got the same message.
I've been away from this so long, its like starting out all over again. Can anyone help?
cheers, Astroman

The account is not linked with GPGNET. Be careful that the login and password are case sensitive. There is a form to reset your password on the homepage if you made a mistake.

No mistake, I copied and pasted the pwd. I can log in to the website, but not the lobby. What username and pwd does the lobby require? EDIT: Hmm, thinking about it, I have updated FA 3599 to 3603, by renaming the 3599 folder and overwriting with 3603...does FAF call the original installed FA .exe at the default location? If so, its probably the reason why its not working. Does that sound right?

I can log in to faforever.com website, but not to the FAF lobby.
What username and password is required for the Lobby?

From the lobby. There is an account creation in the lobby. You have to use that and nothing else. You are thinking too much Start the program, follow the steps, and you are good to go. The form is to change your lobby password.

FAF manages updating itself.
It also doesn't modify your SupCom install at all (it works from a different directory).
The only thing it doesn't like are "hard" mods like Sorian's LEM. I already have an idea how to fix that, though.

Ah, ok. Thanks for that. I can always remove LEM from the gamedata folder and chuck it back in to play offline later right? Thygrrr wrote: FAF manages updating itself.

Blacklisting works and that means the hurdles of entry to FAF have fallen entirely. By the end of the week, you won't need to remove your favorite hard mods like LEM to play FAF. Yessss!
About the cheat settings, I'm sure we'll be able to add this at some point because FAF 'natively' ships with Sorian Ai already.

The main problem is that the current lobby already have a shitload of new options and we need to redesign it a little to implement LEM functions in it.

I'm not burying GPGNET yet, but... Voodoomaster wrote: Ze_Pilot so many work for the wrong thing. I can't believe this. Sorry but i think it's not worth to talk with you about your project. I really wish Voodoo and Koecher came back to see that.

The problem I have with coming back to FA any time soon is that the most prominent groups of members in the community are all complete douche bags (as per quotes above).
They all think I'm a troll because I have the insolence to call them out on their bullshit (how dare I). I absolutely can't stand them.
Good luck Pilot with everything, and everyone else, but it'll have to be another game before we play together again.

Just an update from the developer: A new build will be put up today. Some people were having crashes when they typed in the wrong login name or password, I'm sorry about that. There were several changes in the UI and a particular combination of bad luck and/or bad custom themes caused this crash for them. We're still helping people figure out their connection issues (there aren't many of those, fortunately). ZePilot and I are looking into crazy ways to make connections work in a way GPGnet never could; though at the moment, we're just trying to match the venerable GPGnet. With all these new players being poured onto FAF (funny enough, GPGnet went down on my birthday!) we have many issues to address. Thanks for helping us get this baby through beta on overdrive now, and be patient if it crashes. Complete Addicts can always turn to our Tech Support Forums: http://www.faforever.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=3Anyway, we now have many more featured mods (including Wyvern Battle Pack and Blackops) and are working towards a mod download page (not calling it a "mod vault" because it'd be a much bigger project).
