Oh shite, I've almost forgotten about this game.
Is the server still up? If not, is there any chance I could receive at least an import of my old factory and spaceship? I wanna finish them offline at some point.

The server is indeed still up. I think we have until December of rental time as well. If it is down at any point, you can still pm me to restart it.
I just remembered that Xenon Servers moved us to a new server cluster so our IP changed. Keep me updated on the quality of this new hardware they put us on.
MC Server 64.31.15.215:25565
Apparently they weren't done with the server migrations. This should be our new IP now. MC Server 216.144.251.135:25565

I haven't looked for it but info about it is all over the net. It's probably best to wait, even Notch's release versions are buggy enough. Don't want to try his unstable pre-releases... :3

I downloaded the pre-release and messed with it. Very cool changes, animals are annoying to chase down with a wooden sword or fists, but its fun. I did, however, get a java crash error every few minutes.

Only shortly afterwards Jeb and Notch posted it on the official forums for all as a result. I'm waiting a couple of days for the inevitable 1.8.2 or 1.8.3 anyway, because the full release is going to be buggy as hell.

watch the video and don't touch anything else in the thread.
I now have proof that notch knows nothing about how to make good decisions. Because he is implementing a new feature so we, the BETA PARTICIPANTS can test it? Not to mention we have no solid idea what the original intention was or if this is a bug or anything because this is all still dealing with the Pre-release of an update for a BETA game. Mike

OH NO! MINECRAFT IS ROOOOOONED.
They added a feature, and it comes at a performance hit. We'll be ROOOOOONED.

Mike You say that as if any changes have ever been reverted because the testers didn't like it or that he'll make any effort to change things based upon the opinions of the testers before release.

I like the idea of the fog as you go deeper. Maybe it shouldn't be as dark though, but I still like it.

Well, since MC has no global illumination that's the only way to make ravines and deep tunnels more 'moody'. Of course it doesn't look great if you dig a valley that can hold the Titanic down to bedrock. I have to see it for myself but I think in 99% of the cases it will look nice.

Last time I tried it, it wasn't super stable. And by that I mean it would just crash every 10 or 15 minutes for me. However, I might of just needed to update java or something.
Also 1.8 seems to of officially released now too.

Well, the server I usually play on has updated to 1.8 and started a new map. Wanna guess where the spawn point is?
