What's happening? No news or info about the game for over a month! Has it been canceled or delayed? Or are they going to start again next year?

It's in production, and as such, it's under wraps. Why are you thinking that because we haven't had any news in a few months that something bad has happened to the game? It takes at least 18 months to make a game. This is month 10.

If its in production and they can't tell us anything about it then I think CT should tell us at least that. Hey guys We've moved into production. Most of the stuff we are working on now is secret until we release the game, see you again in a few months.
If the told us that there would be no speculation. Or a least no crisis of faith caused by such an abrupt end to our v-logs. Now we wonder if the project is still a go.

I thought that the last vlog said they were moving into production and there would be no more regular vlogs. It was clear to me anyway.

Yeah, CT stated in the last VLog (#35) that KnC was moving into production and as such there would be no more vlogs for the time being.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the difference between production and pre-production is. In fact, I have no clue. The vlogs will start when they start ^^;

The vlogs will start when they start ^^; In production you have no time to make funny videos any more. But seriously, I think in production you have defined goals (milestones), the game mechanics are more or less set (number of resources, rough number of units per faction, basic design of the factions...) and you have concepts describing how things will fit together in the final product. Doesn't mean you can't change stuff, it just means it's a hell of a lot harder than in preproduction. Still, I hope at some point Chris will just grab the camera and take a few shots of some awesome artwork. I really like what the artists came up with as concept art. It's too bad stuff like that usually isn't freely available to the fans.

The vlogs will start when they start ^^; The many phases of video game making starts with pre-production. This is the phase that all things are planed and thought of as well as most systems. Then there's production. This is generally put in two stages. It starts with alpha. This is the stage where they start asset development in to get every thing in. Very few things are polished and generally nothing a respectable company will put out. Next is beta. It's in this phase that debugging and polish is generally put in place. The last phase is called gold. This is what is sold.

GPG/CT do something that has literally never been done before (i.e., making ( and releasing) a series of pre-production dev vlogs), and then they put up a notice and say that they'll be cutting off the stream for a while.. and barely a month later people are worried that the game has been cancelled.

Emotional investment, I don't know about a financial investment I hope he got that too. We like the up dates, we like the constant reassurance that a game which looks cool is getting closer and closer to being ready for us to play, most of all we like the feeling of being in the loop. Now we don't know the status of the game, we don't know if they are working on it or shopping around for investors or if they decided it was dumb and are now working on "galactic space ninja's and the nebula of mystery." Most of all we are no longer in the loop. We had a situation we liked now we don't, its not entitlement to want it back.

We were spoiled before, now things have returned to the status quo.
Basically, we are acting like spoiled children who say, "I want it, and I want it now! Why don't you give it to me now? I want it, I want it, I want it!" We complain all day and make everyone else annoyed.
My advice: learn to be patient and stop thinking that you deserve all of this stuff. VLogs are a privilege, not a right.

Someone shoot an email off to CT, ask him what's been happening.
Then post his reply here.

Of course we don't 'deserve' vlog's but they were cool and we did like them. They aren't a privilege or a right they are a bit of consumable entertainment. But they aren't very filling and now we are hungry again. Quote: "I want it, and I want it now! Why don't you give it to me now? I want it, I want it, I want it!" I do want vlogs, I would like them now. The big question is why they aren't making any vlogs now, gamers are paranoid about cool games, too many of them get cancelled or turned into lame generic shovelware. I don't think that is a danger here but since we haven't herd anything about this game in a month or two how can we be sure? I think you are confused sir, this is this a mild inquiry into a project we are all interested in. We haven't crashed a server because the free game we play isn't updating fast enough. I really would like an update. The last bit I herd they were going with a rolling update. New content and micro transactions every month. I think that could be a really cool way to do things and I'd like to hear more.

I dont give a fvck about what business practices you use to do it, but if you made a new Tie Fighter game, I'd buy 10 copies instantly.
