When SC just came out there was a post here which basically compared the cost of ownership of a custom built PC (that can run SC very well) and an xbox. Well a pc bought for approximately the same amount as 360 was cheaper in the long run. So I guess you should have invested your money into a decent computer..

Even now.
A computer that will run Supcom:FA well can be built for about £450.
That includes the Case, 20" widescreen monitor and Keyboard and mouse.

That might be double the cost of an xbox + 1 game, but factor in the cost of the TV as well and suddenly its not such a big jump.

I'm not arguing against your logic Stin, but who doesn't eventually get a tv?

Having a computer monitor may be optional, but tv's are everywhere as far as I know.

Well that's why I left it out of my comparison. But I bet a lot of people play xbox on an LCD or plasma which often have pc inputs, adding more weight to the
pc argument.

You mean using a computer on a tv right?

Thats definitely true.

I can't forget the day I walked into my friends bedroom and saw that he had replaced his dinky little monitor with a massive plasma screen tv mounted on his desk.

The thing that alot of people dont get about the whole pc vs xbox debate that crops up with EVERY cross platform game is that its not about simply the cost of buying a pc versus the cost of buying an Xbox, its about the oppurtunity cost. I already have an Xbox 360 so the cost of playing supreme commander 2right now on xbox 360 is £40 at worst.

I do not have a sufficiently capable computer, so the cost of playing supreme commander 2 is approximately £450-500 pounds (the cost of purchasing or building a pc, plus the cost of buying the game). to do this I would have to sacrifice alot of other things in my life, and Im sure many people that would love to be playing supcom 2 on the pc are in a similar situation.

The above is what a vast amount of pro-pc advocates dont realise. hell, I am a pc-advocate, but as of right now the 360 is the most convenient option.

i just feel sorry for people whose gaming habits are dictated by cost, rather than which platform has the best games.

As I stated it Is about oppurtunity cost rather than outright cost. Gaming is only part of my lifestyle choice. Other elements of my lifestyle are also expensive hobbies, thus necessiting a partitioning of resources. I don feel like I have inhibited my gaming choices greatly as Supcom 2 is one of the few games I feel the need for a PC (the others being the Total War series). I would much rather be spending my money on motorcycles, festivals and holidays, that choice is one I am happy to make, rather than one I feel sad about, a severe distinction that must also be made clear. There is no need to feel "sorry" for someone who has made a choice that they feel fulfills there needs better. Instead try feeling happy that they are still gaming as they mature, and may well come back to PC gaming once their circumstances change. :D

Do you have the Xbox 360 version or the PC version? The PC version could easily be run on a ~$500 computer, if it were built within the last two months or so.

Not sure if Amazon is the best place to average where sales are, seeing that Steam, Gamestop, and a couple other outlets were the biggest sellers.

Anyway, what's the argument? Isn't any sale of SupCom2 great since it's going into GPG pockets? Does it really matter which console it goes to?

I have the PC version, because I have a great rig to run it on, and I don't have an Xbox, because I don't like the prevalent style of games that are on it. Gore is just not my style. That's my excuse.

You know what would be awesome to put this game on? the Wii.
