Can we get dxdiags from as many of you still following this thread as possible? This is a good place to post them.Aside from the dxdiag, a few other questions 1. Sound card (onboard, or add-in) 2. RAM configuration (4x 1GB, 2x2GB, etc) 3. Has anyone tried removing some RAM? Unfortunately we don't have this motherboard onsite, We are looking to see if we can find one to run tests on here. Unless I misread something it appears everyone is running the x64 version of 7, has anyone tried throwing an x86 version on and attempted to reproduce this issue?

Here is mine (thanks for the hint on pastebin, will use it now for my own dev). http://pastebin.com/ma0guxn3gpgITninja wrote: Aside from the dxdiag, a few other questions 1. 1. Using only onboard sound (AC97) and have no other sound device installed 2. 4 x 1GB (DDR2-800 CL5) 3. Just did it down to 2 x 1GB - No improvement gpgITninja wrote: Unfortunately we don't have this motherboard onsite, We are looking to see if we can find one to run tests on here.
Maybe it does not necessarily have to be this exact mainboard. It seems to be related to the Gigabyteboards that are based on Intels P35-Chipset. The following two models were always part of the symptomatics: 2x Gigabyte EP-35-DS3 1x Gigabyte EP-35-DS3R (Same as above, just with IntelRaid-Controller ICH9R) Gigabyte created a very wide range of MB based on P35, which were quite popular in 2007. (Actually I bought this together with new hardware especially for SupCom1). gpgITninja wrote: Unless I misread something it appears everyone is running the x64 version of 7, has anyone tried throwing an x86 version on and attempted to reproduce this issue? Yes, everyone that I came across had Win7-64. If I find time on the weekend I could try installing Win7-32Bit on my machine and test it.

I now tried playing with 2x 1GB, but the problem remained.
In contrast to one of my pre-posters it did not matter on my machine wether I was zooming in or out while having trees in my view or not. Even above plain water zooming was creating the problem without a difference

Clark doesnt "lag" and have more or less the same amount of tree than Finn's (lagging), so I don't think it's directly related. But my simspeed is correct (10 or so). I can confirm that it happen in replays too (not connection related) my dxDiag : http://pastebin.com/DSdWRvn04 go of ram (2x2). Perfectly fine (ran a memtest) Internal sound board (spdif output)

Here's the link to my DxDiag http://pastebin.com/PQLWMuuTI'm using a Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS instead of onboard sound. Running 4GB consisting of two 2GB sticks. I'm pretty sure it is DDR2. Also correct in running Windows 7 64 bit.

I actually have an XFX78I Mobo with 2 GTS 800 and I've had this problem happen where we play like a setons everyone is at least +5 and its pretty early but the game stutters despite low pings. Using windows Vista also Quad Core OC'd to 3ghz and tons of ram. I haven't seen it happen since i enabled SLI but then again I haven't played that much.
Also it never happened on any other maps even 3v3's with tons of units but on setons with 4v4 would happen even with less units sometimes.

I have the standard capped upload of 50k/s or what not. Not running anything in the background, not even cable tv. Also doesn't make sense why it would have an issue on setons with an overall lower number of units (map isn't that much bigger) but not in a 3v3 with max units.

The used bandwidth depends on what is happening in the game and more importantly how many players there are in the game. Each player increases your upload usage. A 4v4 will always require more upload bandwidth than a 3v3. Post your speedtest.net results here.

Also I've played 4v4's in supcom 1 with 1000 unit maxes on 40x40's and had it up to 4-6k units at time and never had any lag on this identical computer and connection. Since SC2 is supposed to be far more efficient especially with pathfinding and has much smaller maps I'm fairly sure its an issue with SC2 and not my computer. Still I will post when I get home.

For us the problem is always present from start till end of a MP game. It does not appear/vanish ramdomly. This is quite a different symptomatic.

I tried that exact driver already in March. Did not improve anything for me.
At that time I also went through all network specific options that were exposed by the driver but did not see anything obvious.
IMHO it certainly is net related.

This may or may not help you Already done this in March. I tried the Gigabyte-specific drivers, the windows default drivers and additionally the native drivers from the device vendors. All of this did not help.

Finally found a thread that addresses this intelligently.
Hi banthor, I started experiencing this same problem after the 1.14 patch on a MacBook Pro running bootcamp with Win 7 x64. 4GB RAM, SSD 256GB drive, random freezes. I tried setting affinity and cores and your work around causes my game to crash I so that won't work for me either.
Single player is fine, multiplayer lags. Starts fine and about 1-3 mins in, receive horrible lag that clears after a little while and then I'll hit lag again. Very annoying since this worked fine prior to the steam upgrade, and this patch. I'm not sure who's at fault just yet, still trying and working on different things.
Drive Swept. Installed latest Nvidia moved from wireless to wired connection have all ports that I need forwarded, did a complete reinstall of the game, still have the issue. At this point I'm going to say its a bug that GPG needs to get to the bottom of and fix.

Anyone over at GPG working to fix this issue with Nvidia cards?? Its only shown up in the last couple of patches or last steam upgrade, though I can't point to another steam game that has the same problem.

Still testing but switching to the 257.15 driver from Nvidia seems to have done the trick.

Nope first game including AI caused the same issue once again.
Back to GPG to fix since it worked prior to the last two patches.

Okay.
So we've tried (Drive sweeping everytime) the newest driver in the 19x series the newest driver in the 25x series and nothing seems to have worked. This seems to primarily affect Windows 7 x64 bit systems with Nvidia cards and the game works fine in everything except multiplayer.
Some google research around the web I discovered a number of people are having problems with the latest Nvidia drivers and Windows 7 x64. Having read that I reverted back to an old 186.xx driver and initial test proved promising I'll put it through the ringer tomorrow and write back if it resolves the issue.

First of all the symptoms on your machine seem to be different to mine and others posting here.
Wheras you are describing that the problem occured only recently with the last few game/steam patches, for me the problem perists since release of the game.
Wheras you are describing that the problem occurs not from start of the game, in my case and others the problem occurs directly after the multiplayer game starts.
I describe the problem as "GUI-lag", because SIM speed and ping are perfect, but the game-GUI is not responsive.
Of course this still can mean we have the same problem, but the symptomatics are just a little different.
From what I have read here and in other places, Windows 7 64-Bit was ALWAYS present. Also I have found that most people using motherboard "Gigabyte P35-DS3" had the problem. Memory size/setup did not seem to be relevant to the problem.
From this I gather that it is a problem with Win7-64Bit in combination with Gigabyte's P35-DS3-Motherboard.

Yes, my issues are definitely different. I've narrowed it down to only when there is AI in the game and its an online game. It does the (--- - - - - ---- - - - - -----) performance lag. Where dashes close together are smooth and then followed by a period of lag. It doesn't matter what driver I choose or any configuration of software that I've tried this doesn't go away somewhere between retail and now 1.14.
GUI Lag is the exact same problem I'm having though it clears up at random intervals making the game playable for 1 minute and then lag for 1 minute.
The issue you're describing may indeed be hardware related, but my issue with a similar symptom is definitely not since I had a game that worked prior to the patches.
Handing it all to GPG and awaiting a patch for my part.
Thanks.
