EDIT: sig resizing doesn't appear to work in all cases... looking into this.
2. Image size: Image sizes allowed in posts are limited to 680x750, anything larger than this will be resized by the forum to fit these parameters (it takes into account landscape vs portrait and tries to keep scale) the image will then also become a link that will open to that image location directly in a new tab.[/color] This goes horribly wrong. I made images that were scaled down because they were something like 800*1067. I resized them to 563*750. They get scaled down to 510*680. http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=29933&start=0

The first image - the cover - in that link?
Image properties: 563px × 750px (scaled to 510px × 680px)
The width needs to be 680 or under, so it got reduced. Almost certainly this means gpgITninja meant 750 high x 680 wide.
If I'm doing the math right and you're keeping the aspect ratio, you'll end up with 750 high x 563 wide.

If I'm doing the math right and you're keeping the aspect ratio, you'll end up with 750 high x 563 wide. If you take a careful look, you can see that the height is more than the width. So naturally, the height is 750 (maximum allowed) and the width is 563 (less than the maximum allowed). I also double checked it in photoshop (when I resized it) because I thought the same thing as you, I did the resizing over (from the original large cover), typing in the new height -> 750. The width automatically changes to 563 because photoshop likes the words "aspect ratio".

I read your post a few times... knowing the risk of getting it wrong. I looked at your post, took the scaled down version as well as clicked through to get the juicy 1600x1200 version. And I guess I still got it wrong.
What res was it supposed to be?

With screen resolutions, we always take the width before height, so it's 1920*1200, 1920*1080 etc.
Then, the full cover is 1200*1600, the small cover will become 563*750.

I'm not sure if you were referring to this when you mentioned the bottom nav bar being pretty messed up (image wise), but when you load the site and rapidly scroll down (say Off-Topic is your first stop), you'll notice the purple bars at the bottom are yellow, right before they switch to the correct color of purple.

No Messages seems to be broken for me; I would have had a PM in my inbox from Spooky for weeks if I hadn't seen the notification in my email.
when I went into the inbox, it changed to whatever yellow text it says (couldn't read it properly because it started wrapping onto a new line).

Profile | Show your posts is what I've been using in place of an on-page link to own posts or subscribed topics. That egosearch doesn't float the unread results to the top of the list. New responses to topics posted within may appear on 2nd or (I presume) subsequent pages of the search result. In other news, I saw a bump topic function. I used it once. It was better than posting fluff to float a topic. Neat idea.

The "newposts" and "egosearch" search is and always was sorted by "Last post". Unread topics where never kept at the top of the list, regardless of its last post date.

Must be mixing this up with a bunch of other forums then. So... re-wording: Can we please have subscriptions and own post topics that have new replies floated to the top of the search results?

Quick question, what exactly is the point of the "Go to page" link at the top? It has a descriptive text, yet it only sends you back to the page you're already on. So in essence, it refreshes the page, but adds to your browser history.

Code: <a href="#" onclick="jumpto(); return false;" title="Click to jump to page…">Go to page</a> I think that it's turned into an url but the onclick="jumpto(); return false;" part messes it up. (I don't have so much experience with any sort of programming though).

The yellow is a background color I used to find css elements on the page during construction, it will be fixed tomorrow when I upload the new version. That might have just been an error on my part, I don't think the "go to page" portion is actually supposed to be a link.

Looking into this, I have seen it as well. Will this be fixed in the update? This happens the first time I want to post a response each time I load the forums. It's sort of annoying. (I'm asking since you're updating the site layout, and you said you were looking into it, but I'm not sure if you've found a solution to the problem yet.)

Yeah, please take a look at the PM system again ITninja. One of the PMs still showed up as unread after I had already responded to it and at the bottom is a button missing (the reply button under the quoted message). Thx.

.Funny thread. i hadn't read this before. A lot of Michelangelo's in here. Melissa made me laugh. The thing about web design, is it's all about colour schemes. Using colours that complement each other. That's the trick. Then Melissa's eyes won't feel raped.

Is there any possibility of you guys turning on the RSS Feed functionality of the forum? It's a good way to surf the forum at work.
