Besides that I don't really have any bugs as of yet, just got a few of them fixed by reading through this thread.. The very very top banner? That's one of the bosses from Dungeon Siege 2

Mod, Tech, Off-topic, and forum administration could all use some banner image things. [from the board index]
keep up the good work....

gpgITninja, can you add custom BBcodes now? I made a silly one that allows you to announce a date and time in the local timezone of the user. BBcode usage Code: [time]{TEXT}[/time]
Html replacement Code: <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(new Date("{TEXT}").toLocaleString()) </script>
I post this: [time]March 27, 2010 19:00 GMT[/time] result is this: Sat Mar 27 2010 20:00:00 GMT+0100 (Romance Standard Time)

The gray/metallic outside area is fine, but the while around the black text area is not, especially at the bottom.
I might learn some greasemonkey stuff just to fix this.
Also, the smilies looked a lot nicer in a box than these random rows, and Mr. Blue is supposed to be a secret.
EDIT: Also, edit should be at the top, i almost reported my own post.
Also, the text we get right after posting with the 'back to topic'/'back to forum' needs to have a larger font. It was a bit bigger before, and was better that way. Also, on that screen it would be nice to still have a black column down the center, as there the grey is waay to overpowering.
And the spacing in sigs makes mine waaaay too big. I like my sig. Do not mess with my sig.

Nice.
Can't say I am a fan of the giant *** "ONLINE" "OFFLINE" buttons though. They arn't even buttons but look like them. For something that's so minor and (IMO) useless (who cares if someone is online on a message board?), it sure does stand out and scream for attention against the black and the post.

[Edit: Please put a "Show Your Posts" link on the forum header so it shows up regardless of where you are in the forum? This thing: Code: http://forums.gaspowered.com/search.php?search_id=egosearch [original post] Where is the part where I click a link to show my the topics I've subscribed to? Typically, I auto-subscribe to topics I've posted in, and I use the subscription link to find the topics I've posted in and track responses. Do we have to go into our user control panel or profile for this?

Also, the font size of links needs to be the same size as normal text, it's really annoying to have it so small. Also, there's no 'watch this topic for replies' button, which forces me to make spam posts just to watch a topic. EDIT: Move the subscribe topic button to where it'll be used, at the bottom, not some hidden corner blending in at the top.

The search functions aren't working quite right.
I try to search for: FiringTolerance I get an error telling me that I can only search words that are between 3 and 14 letters long.
I try to search for: Firing I get an error telling me that firing is not found in the forums.
I tried selecting both the modding forums, all forums, and individual forums and got the same responses.

So, question... can I have a skin for this forum that isn't this ass-ugly grey color in the background? I really preferred the black background, as opposed to this... hideous abomination to my eyes.

I like the idea, but it feels like the new forums were created by a programmer and not a designer. Everything clashes and it's much less focused to the eyes. It's not good to use every color of the rainbow, and the disjointed use of light and dark makes it very hard to tell what's going on.

For Firefox users that aren't not liking the site background, I'm pretty sure you can use AdBlock Plus to filter out: Code: http://forums.gaspowered.com/styles/gpg/theme/images/background.jpg [Edit: Well, that removes the greyish texture image. But leaves a solid grey background in its place.] Fancy schmancy people will use GreaseMonkey to replace that background with one of their own preference - but that's beyond what I normally do, so haven't looked at that as an option.

Contrary to most people, I want a bright theme . Especially now since the black theme clashes with the new background. An additional theme to select would be nice.

The whole border surrounding the forum posts really hurts me. It's waay too bright compared to the black posts itself. It was much better with the old lay-out.
Also, could you place the submit button seperately from the preview, save and cancel buttons. It's really irritating to have posts saved instead of subbitted.
For the rest: nice job!

Btw. I don't like the new layout of newposts and egosearch. It's much harder to filter the posts by forums now, since they are displayed be low the thread title. Which also increases the height of each row, additionally to the increase in font-size of the thread title.

Quote: 2. Image size: Same as for signature images, images embedded into posts will now need to conform to a certain size, the forum should auto generate a thumbnail of any image that is too large (again, dimensions coming shortly) What about pictures that are too large but were put in posts before the forum change? EDIT: Where did the memberlist go?
