I've installed Windows xp 64bit, and i now use up to 2.5gb memory.. And the game is still very slow.. 40x40 me + 5 AI. speed goes to -5... @ 50fps

are there any computers that can handle this game? what kind of system is that? I can not believe that my system is to slow...

I'm running x64 vista with i7 processor and 8gb. Smooth as silk. My old computer was a single core, and lagged but was still somewhat playable.

However I still crash after a while into the game. I suspect it was what OP had said. However, I can't download the instructions as they are not there anymore...

Hmm - I'm still getting crashes similar to what has been dsicussed but since I'm playing FA it shouldnt exceed the limit.

OMG, I've been suffering this crash for so long and could not find a solution until now! Thanks to MadBoris for developing this and Whisper1234 for re-uploading the files.

I'm now a happy camper, but I wonder why the developers chose not to fix this? Kinda reflects badly on them I'd say. I'll have to hold onto my Supreme Commander 2 money until I hear from you guys that there isn't a similar problem with this new game.

K guys idk if im doing this right. I changed my .ini and then made a backup. After that i wasnt sure where i was supposed to copy the .exe to so i tried the folder with the startme.bat but when i clicked the .bat it says i didnt copy the .exe to the right folder. Where exactly am i supposed to copy this folder?

I got it working but when i tried it when it was does and had the header applied my game crashed just a few minutes later. What did i miss?

I feel like this thread is dead, but if anyone does answer....is the game supposed to become choppy after the fix? B/c i finally got it to work (just had to restart my comp) but when i started playing it got slow and choppy. Is this from the fix?

are u playing it in capain or custem v a lot aix?

No one's computer can handle a lot of AIs. Your options are basically to either play against people online or reduce the number or AIs you play against.

Does this fix work for Windows 7? I only have 2GB RAM and was wondering if someone could post the steps I'd have to do to get this to work, as I assume I can't get Supreme Commander to address 3GB of Ram and I have no idea about changing the paging file?

if you only have win 7 32BIT it can only use a maximum od 2.8gb and fale paging can be chanced in my computer ~ properties ~ system then performance.

Thanks reddev32, I now have the file paging set up, however I still can't do the stage that lets the OS assign more than 2GB of RAM to each program - as the posted Vista fix doesn't seem to work!

vista only use what it needs but since vista uses around 1gb just for os it will only use 1gb for Apps if you want to use full 2gb u need to get win 7 64 bit its better

So I either have to get Windows 7 64 bit or give up on playing Supreme Commander?

So by the sounds of it all I have to do is set the paging file higher on the virtual memory thingy? I'm a novice at this so please don't be angry.

ok u need to 1st make sure that you operating system is fully picking up the 8 gig of ram you can do this by going in to my computer ~ help ~ about windows and @ the bottom of the screen
