Why don't people understand that a quality gaming rig is not that much more expensive than a crap pc you'd use just to surf the net + the cost of a console? It would actually be much less than those two combined....

well, it does matter. money always matters, and also everyone needs to have a computer nowadays.

i can't really afford to have both a computer to do my uni. work on and have a console. that's why i spent a tiny bit extra on my computer and get both my gaming and work down in the one place.

It irked me just enough to reply.

My problem isn’t with consoles, its with the users. No knowledge, all demands. Having just spent about 3 months on a console forum, the majority of them are absolutely clueless, and they use their ignorance as a launching pad for making ridiculous demands of game developers.

The number of users that think the 360 or PS3 are somehow comparable to the capabilities of the modern PC bakes my noodle. They were out of date before they were even released. Sheesh.

Well, then you're pretty darn close. You figure I'm running a couple of old 8800s and they do the job just fine and then see that the newer 200 series is only a couple hundred $, you gotta be able to find something for less that can still do a good job. The 9000 series a lot of them are under $100.

My wife wants a 360 for Christmas. I was wanting to build a new PC and then let her take over the older one I'm running (well, not that old... little more than a year), but to her PCs are "too difficult" to learn and thus doesn't put forth much effort beyond use for music and internet.

Personally, I got nothing against console players or their games. It's the ones that refuse to learn computers and then insist that consoles are better/wave of the future I don't like.

My PC meets the minimum requirements so I'd have to turn the pretty off and the ugly up to max. I wont be able to play against 7 AIs either :(

In my experience seven AIs slows the game down to about -6 speed without core maximiser, and turns the game into a slide show with it. And I have a quad core at 2.4GHZ.

Then again, I do play at max settings all the time.:D

So, knowing the 360 version is objectively inferior, you still want to at least make the case that it is okay to even slightly suggest it is on par with the pc experience by saying I'm an elitist by saying the pc is the better platform to play it on? You realize how incredibly stupid that is, right? I'm not being an ******, I'm just using common sense here...

A pc player? Of FA, yes, because it is the de facto system to play FA on. Look at it this way, would you play Cod4 on the DS (there is a DS version of the game), then tell me (who played it on PC and 360) that your version was the the same as mine? Of course you wouldn't, so why are you doing the same thing here? It isn't a matter of being an ****** or anything like that, it is just a matter of fact. I don't try and convince people a piece of dog **** on the front lawn is a diamond ring do I? Of course not, because people would call me stupid and nuts, for good reason, among other things.
