Nice one dots, poor Simmons going out like that, now thats dedication.

Also I was racking my brain where I'd heard that quote about mixing things and seeing what happens before, and I think I've just remembered. Did ya get it from Dr Who with him putting the two uber pen things together? (in the episode with the squidgy fat things. I don't usually watch it but I saw that episode since my GF had it on)

However I'm still thinking about the “I did not climb this high by being in those twenty-four percent. Just send me back there!” one from last chapter though, its driving me crazy so please tell if it is actually from something else. :P

Anyways as to the chapter, oof just the sorta ending we wanted. Things gettin frantic, battles happening allover the place, plot development.

Seems the UEF + Cybran alliance is fully sealed now, and the Aeon one is in the making, since they showed they were trustworthy by guarding the base, and even Desjar might put aside his differences a bit now. Hopefully they've learned their lessons from last time.

Seems a lotta pilots died but such is war, especially against the Sephys, heck Simmons uber nuke that wiped out half their base didn't even kill one. Nice introduction of the uber sephybot experimental too, can't wait for whatever future chapter ya describe a bigass battle with them using those against the other factions experimentals, *wink. :P

Great ending. Twas a pleasure reading it all as usual, cheers dude. :)

I never watched Dr. Who so that can't be from him. However, the idea of not mixing fields was inspired by Ghostbusters (Spengler's warning).

The twenty-four percent thing, I think I heard something similiar in Stealth.

Hopefully, none of Bagby's line came from TV. Of course, I watched so many of Joss Whedon's series that part of his insanity is probably inspired by his work. That guy has some of the best one liners ;)

"The twenty-four percent thing, I think I heard something similiar in Stealth."

Thats it! Tis a long time since I've watched it so I'd forgot. However yeah its when he's doing some stupid manouvre and they say he's gunna black out, and he screams back he didn't get that high by being in that percentage and so on. So yeah I think thats it heh, it fit well here anyways, specially with the personality of fletcher. :P

And yeah fair nuff with the Dr Who thing, as said I don't really watch it myself so I can't really remember it clearly, but he does use a similar line.

Edit: Found it, it was quite similar but not the same, just reminded me of it hehe. Tis the part at 3:20 - 3:45 in this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pN6RW8BrZoA

I can't remember as far back as Ghostbusters though, heh. :P

And as for Bagby well, I hope none of it came directly from TV or anywhere else really, if that type of insanity is rampant then theres a problem.

Cheers for reminding me anyways heh, will stop my brain nagging me :)

That would be a lot better without Clarke looking like a RealDoll under a sun lamp in the top right there.

This is the alternative with Clarke on the cover. I will not kick her out of it and her looking afraid is the best for this book.

Don't forget that I'll leave the decision to dotswarlock, but if he is going to make a decision, he'll take a look at your opinions as well, I am sure of that.

Hmm bit better plasma. Its the half-a-face thing that makes it look a bit bodged though. :/

It seems weird, but I think I'll keep the original one. Samantha's face, fully lighted, reminds me of the sequence in which Seraphim nukes start falling. That was my impression of it at any rate ;)

Now it's a RealDoll in a freezer.

Get rid of it entirely.

EDIT: That's not fair, you deserve to know why.

The picture seems a poor decision because we are given no context. She's not staring at the viewer, implying that the thing frightening her is not up to us to see, she's not looking at the object that is falling towards the base; in fact her eyes aren't even focused. The picture is taken from the FA intro video, so while it is relevant in context, it's not relevant here. What I mean by that is, you have added a dramatic picture, at least we're supposed to assume it's dramatic, but the rest of the cover is not concise enough to figure that out. The other three pictures are of a dramatically different art style and take place in different settings. We're given no reason to THINK that Clarke is afraid of what's in them, because they look disconnected.

The picture also obscures part of her face, which makes it even more pronounced. The odd colors are making it even worse.

It would be a better picture without it.

Which is the exactly what I wanted to achieve with it.

I did. It's still not very good.

Zoom out a bit to capture her whole face, make it not creepy.

Looks like I have to spell it out for you:

In the way I captured her face only partially, it looked the best.

I know what it's supposed to be. That doesn't stop it from looking stupid. I wouldn't KNOW she was looking afraid if he hadn't told me, so it's not very good at getting its point across.

You're like Lucas or Buckley, so convinced you're right that you can't accept critique.

Am I? I doubt it.

I have PM'ed dotswarlock about this situation, about three days ago.
That there are three persons in total who said that they disliked the look of Clarke.
That the way I put her in there was, in my opinion the best way she looked.
I also have said that I would not like to take her away from the cover, that I have tried something else (the second, alternative cover), which I personally liked a lot less (and so did you guys).
I have said, that if he wanted the cover to look different, that he just had to make his comments on it, and that I would change it.
I can stand critisism, even though it is hard.
But if, apperantly, the person who is responsible for the book, is not satisfied with the cover and wants it to look different, then I'll change it. If the fans want it to look different, then HE is the person who makes the decision.

I can stand the critique, even though it is hard. But can YOU stand the fact that a decision has been made against your personal ideas on how something should look like?

Oh, ok, so both of you have bad taste instead of just you.

Makes sense.

So we have a bad taste, while you know EVERYTHING about art, personal style, from everything all over the world?

No, doesn't make sence. I think I'll stop bothering replying to someone who doesn't make any positive comments at all.

Nope, I just know a lot more than you.

I don't need to make positive comments to make constructive comments. See how I went out of my way to show you, TWICE, how I was seeing it? And how you ignored them deliberately?

But EVERYONE who has commented on it except the person who requested it thinks it's stupid. Your failure to detect a pattern here is no fault of the audiences'.

Nope, I just know a lot more than you.

And that gives you the right to tell about OTHERS, from who you have not seen or heard nothing except from what they show here, what they are, how they think? NOT in MY world. Also, I seriously doubt your intelligence, solely because you say you know 'a lot' more than me

No, I have also, TWICE responded. But not I am going to ignore whatever you say.

I did not fail to detect a pattern, I just am not obliged to give in to it.
