Wow, that is great.

THQ really sucks. Forged Alliance needed much more attention than the original SupCom, but they sucked on it.

I hope that it work for you guys. I know that it is difficult, but if you make great games, it will work for sure.

Wow that is a big move, I didn't know you guys had been around long enough, or had the resources to do that kind of thing.

I assume your current projects with THQ & Sega are still going along ok right?

Also, will you start publishing other studio's work, or only your own?

Nice, hopefully no more meager and all-French manuals for Europe then. :)

And badly translated ones at that.

I meant the one we got for SupCom.

Wow, that is fantastic news.

It's awesome to see GPG taking the same (successful) route as Valve.

This will also allow Gas Powered to serve its community directly, without barriers and bottlenecks put up by the publishers. That's really great for all of us.

GPG's got guts! Best of luck to you guys. It's a lot of work, but if you can make a name for yourself, this can only mean good things for future games and current ones. :) No more having to go through THQ's quality-control shenanigans for patches, I'm guessing, right? That would be one of the biggest benefits for the game communities and the team; being able to release small, simple patches whenever they were needed for faster bugfixing.

This could be good, could be bad.

On one hand, it will hopefully allow GPG to get away from the 3-month QA session for tiny patches that would have taken 10 minutes otherwise, and therefore bring us more regular patches and (hopefully) be able to address problems in a timely manner (how long have we been waiting for the Sera Regen patch?), not to mention hopefully do some real advertisement for Demigod, which never really happened for SupCom.

On the other hand, if Demigod flops, it would probably hurt GPG more than if they hadn't self-published.

Knock on wood! Don't say that. Let's hope for the best for GPG.

I'm really excited to hear this. I detest giving money to publishers who only seem to ever get in the way of my enjoyment of the game when the developers should be reaping all the profit. Right on GPG, and best of luck!

I'm really looking forward to this game. it looks fantastic, innovative, and of course, lots of fun ;)

Also, anyone notice the GPG is just all-around hitting the big times lately? We have FA, news of a second expansion in the works, Space Seige, Demigod, and now, self publishing? Reminds me of a young blizzard :D

No Iridium. We haven't had a game about vikings yet. That's why we need a new unit patch for SupCom, I'd bet it would be UEF.

Also, self-published means better translations (hopefully since crunch time is never, ever, a good time to do this) and us guys out of the english speaking world would like to introduce people to games with decent voice acting.

Going down the self-pulishing route, I hope you are able to provide the game on Steam, that should get the game a large amount of exposure when it is released.

Becoming Self Publisher is very much a risk but in todays world where you can broker deals to have your game over Steam and the like its not such a bad move.

THQ very much let SupCom and all its Worldwide Community down with the Forged Alliance release. I have still not found a copy in my local GAME store or seen any british advertisment of any kind for it. Considering this was a game voted by many reviewers as the best RTS of current years, they clearly made a big financial mistake.

Microsoft seemed to do a good job with the Dungeon Siege releases which is why I was surprised to see SupCom launched under THQ, although I guess it clashed with Microsofts Age of Emipres titles.

I wish GPG all the best of luck with DemiGod as they are one of the better game companies out there that seem to truely care for their game communities.

ps. Hope to do a SupCom VideoCast Soon(tm)!

Maybe, instead of "Supreme Commander 2" We'll have some new IP that GPG can self-publish. I'm not too attached to the story, races, and characters, just to the gameplay that i know GPG can deliver, whatever the title is.

I propose they call it Eternal War or something, we'll be able to insult the intelligence of the trolls if they can't figure the EW acronym.
