OMGWTFFTW!!

So cool story... i love the parts with Dostya and that part with UEF (in the start when they capture her) really catches the UEF spirit "No matter the cost!" and gives them a (much!!) darker image than before i read it, cant wait for more!!
MASTERPIECE

Thanks guys! The thrilling conclusion of book 1 will be coming soon (with a book 2 in mind). As for grammatical errors I fear that sometimes I miss them (amazing how those are easier to spot in someone else's text, hehe). I correct them whenever I spot one while re-reading the story ;)

Well I'm taking the liberty of editing it as I read it - do you want me to upload a copy when I've (hopefully) fixed all the errors, or would that seem like too much of a slap in the face to have someone else fix your occasional errors?

How about copying the corrected version in a PM with the corrections highlighted? That way I’ll correct the original post and everyone can benefit from it instead of realizing that there’s another version 4 pages later ;)

Just got another idea, send me the modified chapters and I'll compare them using Word's compare function. It will save you the trouble of highlighting it manually.

Ha, you just made my morning. I will highlight the chapters I have yet to do and just send you the other (5, I think) chapters I've already done.

Chapter 10 is here: Sacrifice and freedom.

It will most likely answer a lot of questions and for those wondering, Ariel is the same Ariel as in the Aeon campaign (mission 5). Eventually I'll rename the thread to distinguish it between book 1 and book 2 (which I'll work on later).

Awesome read; it's literally hard for me to imagine the SupCom universe without thinking of this thread now; when I think about Marxon or Dostya or Arnold, they have a tangible history to them. It's obvious that when you write these stories you research the available information, right down to timelines and world information. Truly awesome.

Glad you're all enjoying it :)

I'll be correcting some spelling mistakes before I get on with Book 2 but if you want then this is the perfect time for suggestions! The settings will most likely be a few years later so Dostya will be an ACU pilot, the princess will be a bit older, etc.

So if you ever wondered how I imagine certain aspects or if you have a few "what if?" ideas running through your head then throw them here! Got a favorite side character that you're curious about? I might not pick them all but too many suggestions is better then not enough ;)

Damn you've developed the story on all 3 fronts!

Going great dude, keep it up, read the entire lot of it.

Lovely character developments and some nice battle scenes, even with experimental usage. Also fits the scene pretty well, UEF going straight for Broadswords and so on. :D

I just changed the title of the thread to "Book 1: Infinite War". I'll be adding another thread called "Book 2: Rise of the Aeon" a bit later this afternoon and I'll update my sig with links to both. I'm still corrected the mistakes of the first book with help from Daniiren but I'll also be working on book 2 at the same time ;)

Awsome story my only criticism is that you brought a few things that I would call. Game terminolodgy (hard to explain maybe you get my meaning) into the story that seemed a bit awkward but besides those few moments (and they were few). It's an awsome story hell of alot better than shakespeare or the Odyssesy :P god damn I hate the Odyssey.

Just finished reading through book 1 and well... wow. very impressive, but there was one disappointment in it all

dotswarlock wrote:
The first is that the moment that money is involved you step away from fan fiction (which is a form of free publicity and therefore usually liked by most companies) and into the world of intellectual property. Although the story is my doing (and therefore technically my property), the entire concept, world and characters of Supreme Commander are the property of GPG. I could no more publish a book about Supreme Commander without permission then I could do it with a book of Star Wars.

That's a disappointment. I'll come right out and say someone at GPG should try and work out an arrangement with you and whatever publisher(Del Rey springs to mind as they've has some success publishing books about Halo), to print and sell these as official canon material.
