Okay, after trying for many hours i just found my problem.
It was NOD32, i had it disabled, but that wasn't enough, i had to uninstall it completly to get the cdkey validated.
So if you have NOD32 on your computer try to uninstall it and then try to validate your cdkey.
Worked for me.

Good to hear. NOD32 would've prevented gameplay, too.
BTW, I deleted your other topic, because the solution is contained here.

Didn't we go through the beta, having to play without virus protection - which was fixed allowing NOD32 to work again, and now it doesn't work again? What's so bad about NOD32?

The NOD32 issue was never fixed.
IMON messes around with the windows TCP/IP stack or something.

Yeah, it was. They changed some of their netcoding thing that allowed antivirus programs (including NOD32) to work with the beta. This allowed IMON to work with the game.
Now I'm guessing they're back to forcing us to have the standard network stack with windows' TCP/IP modules thing at the top - which clashes with NOD32 putting their module at the top.

Well, as far as I remember (and as far as other beta users told me too that time), they only fixed some issues of other antivirus applications, not including NOD32. If NOD32 works for some users (like me), it's... er... luck

What version of NOD32 do you have?

I had the latest 2.70.31.
Don't think all antivirus programs has this issue, because i also installed the game on my notebook, which has Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition, and there everything worked fine.

Rather than uninstall NOD32 it is possible to exclude GPG.NET from being scanned by the IMON. To do this:
1. Open the NOD32 Control Centre
2. Open Threat Protection Modules -> IMON
3. Click Setup and open the Miscellaneous tab
4. Press the Edit button in the Exclusions setup
5. Add the "GPG.Multiplayer.Client.exe" file as an exclusion.
This resolved all issues i was having with NOD32 and GPG.NET which included various CD-Key errors and Disconnections from the client. I am using NOD32 2.70.23 on Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

Ah, nice, didn't think of that
And I guess it would be advisable to do the same thing for the SupCom.exe?

I've already done that, maybe that's why it's worked since they changed the netcode in the beta..
Hopefully this means NOD32 might work with SupCom retail *crosses fingers*

So far i have only had to disable the GPG.NET client and i have been able to host / join many games without any problems. I am sure it wouldn't hurt though

But i tried to turn off IMON and still i got invalid cdkey, don't know if disabling the service or excluding is any different, but my problem wasn't fixed before i uninstalled it.

NOD32 isn't always the bad guy!
I have NOD32 (ehm 64bit but ok) anyway i never shutted it down and i also had the cd key invalid error but sometimes i can login.
Then i have the problem that i can't connect to any game so i did tried to disable all the NOD processes and connect again to some games but i simply never get connected!
Why is SC just not having an error/debugconsole?

Issues with NOD32 were addressed during the beta, but we can't control everything about this third-party software.
The primary issue we addressed with NOD32 and other third-party programs was the dreaded "black screen" issue with SupCom rendering.
NOD32 is still problematic with account creation. It should just be uninstalled completely.

2 users from insidesupcom.de are reporting, that they can solve issues like not being able to connect to GPGnet or GPGnet reporting an invalid CD-Key by increasing the process priority of the GPGnet client.

It's an AntiVirus application made by ESET ( http://www.eset.com/). Supposedly NOD32 (its main AV offering) is an efficient one which uses very little system resources when compared to other security suites.

Forums are great pools of knowledge!
Having recently switched to NOD32 from NAV2005, this very evening I discovered the invalid cd key error described here. 20 minutes later problem solved, following the above advice about excluding the client.exe file.
Works for me

I cant figure out how to get through the invalid CD key. I dont have NOD32 and normally it says 1 Core : 1 Could not connect to GPGNet: Supreme Commander. Please check your connection to the internet and try again. I have Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Command & Conquer and Age of Empires all able to connect but Supreme Commander can't! I have the reccommended specs to. What do I do? If so, or whatever it is, how do you do it?
