I've always been a fan of battleships, and frankly I was disappointed in the Supcom Battleships, so I'm currently working on a mod that places the Iowa class (and assuming it works, other ships) in the game.
Roughly a WW2 look to it. Everything is intended to be as realistic as possible. Using the UEF battleship as a model, and so I could be a bit lazy, changes to the guns: 920 damage from the main battery* (vs UEF's 600), fire rate 1 per 30 seconds. Projectile speed 39 (vs UEF's 26), range increased to be reasonable. Secondary guns gain the ability to target both surface and air units, and have slower muzzle velocity.
*This was extrapolated from Mavor and other shell damage/craters, unfortunately I no longer remember exactly how I did it.
Model: mostly done, some superstructure is incorrect. 40mm platforms need to be redone.
Bones: All primary (16"/50) and secondary guns (5"/38 DP) done, debating on the inclusion of all the 40mms, which would according to my calculations manage 1 damage per hit, but would look really impressive.
Script: Mostly done, haven't gotten AA vs Standard ammo for the DP guns done, which given some messing with targeting priorities may not be necessary. Also, I need to properly size the ship, it's currently too big.
Texturing: while working a tiny bit, needs work and a batch of learning on my part.
(Actually the Iowas had nuclear shells which had a bigger explosion... of course, that close would have been rather harmful!)
