Yeah ive seen all the fights around here. Its a shame really... Thats one thing we dont need. I wish i had someone here, that i could just throw my hundreds of questions at XD

Hi,

I just re-written the intel functions and tested a game or 2, the result is always the same..

No Desync's

here is the game log from my pc to my laptop playing 2 sorain AI

not a single error relating to DMS or 4DC... which is the only mods i had loaded..

here is the betas i used... :/ its proper strange that i do not desync AT ALL when in LAN MP Games, im using the exact same game configuration on both machines..

Do you only ever play AI games? Also, I don't use the LAN/IP to do it. I use steam matchmaking. It seems like two human players, would cause a different outcome than two AI players, but i don't really know.

Hi,

Makes no differance pal, i have 2 different human players connected to the same game, if any of these players including AI desync, the other players would see the desync message, in the actual game, the AI are regarded as players, like human players, they call the same functions ect, as a human player would, basicly they call the same code as what a human player does.. so they will also cause a desync.. to the other multiplayer players.. i would defo see a desync on either of the human players if any player desyncs.. totally weird huh..

Sounds like you gotta get a little better strategy there, eh Domino? :)
I can take on two Sorian Adaptives no problem. Yeah im just waiting on my friends to come online so we can test. I don't have two copies of the game, and my friends live in a different time zone, so when im awake, they are sleeping XD it kind of sucks. But theres always the tiny overlap.

In the previous beta, it desync'd at 2:09 and got worse at roughly 10:00. We didn't have any intel structures or anything like that, heck it desync'd even before we made contact with the AI. I'll test later today, and hopefully it will be all fixed :)

i just said to stuart were getting close now if it still desyncs, there isnt that much left to change regards to storing data in the sim.. ive virtually re-written all of the simsync code.. it works much better now, none of it is local, except for a few small things, which ill re-write over the next few days...

This has been a pain in the arse, however it pushed me to clean up all the code i need to clean up anyway... lol...

if it still desyncs, its safe to assume its in the code i havent changed... so should be alot easier to find..

Ok, whats the best way to post it?
Also something REALLY weird. during the game, the desync popped up at 11:00 but when i watched the replay... The desync occured at 1:58. Has that ever happened to people before? We (and the ais) only had factories, power, and mass. As for units, we had engineers, and transports. But the Ais had land scouts.
