Just bought the game (STEAM) and want to play online. How would I go about this?

Do you have someone in mind with which to play this online? If not, I don't know how successful you will be at finding someone to play with.

Sorry for the delay. I got the zip. Tried to install and it would not. Didn't bother to try compatibility mode or run as admin.
Also in response to finding people to play with, this is true but I was planing on playing with a Steam friend this coming winter sale.
I will try the admin and compat modes sometime later.
Thanks guys for responding. Pretty cool people are still here.

[quote="BulletMagnet"]Wait wait wait!
Just so I can be clear here, as my Orig Post was vague.
Installed the game, that installed GPGnet.
Ran GPG but I cannot create an account. Keep getting a "unable to connect" error.
So the link provided by reddev32 might be a newer version, IDK but I downloaded it anyways.
Extracting and running the GPGnet installer, I have run into an new issue, it will not install.
But thanks for the Wait wait wait! That is exactly what I am doing.

You're not doing anything wrong at all. Revdev did something wrong: he told you to use GPGNet.
It's been shut down.

It's been shut down. Thanks bro. That makes it clear. So it is officially dead? No more internet play as far as Space Siege goes?

I was under the impression that the GPGnet server for Space Siege was ran by GPG itself. Are you sure you've set the server selector to the Space Siege server?

Then I'm afraid BulletMagnet is right and you won't be able to play online anymore. Unless you could play over LAN, perhaps by using hamachi.

I could be mistaken, but I always assumed they were both down.

Ok i been offline for a while but space seige server in GPGnet is ran within GPG server enviroment but that does not mean they have not had power cuts (they always do) and have not restored the service. I'll contact servo to make sure that this is the case or might not be we will soon find out.

did they change something with previous accounts? I still have all the info saved in my login yet gives bad name/pw. Try to reset and giving a bad combo, yet I can see the email still of old gpgnet signup (and its password. which doesn't work)

GPGNet was shut down(GPG themselves weren't even aware it was happening until after the fact) so there isn't anymore Dev/Pub support Online Functionality for any of the games that used GPGNet.

Mike As was said earlier, the GPGnet server for Space Siege is hosted in house but it was offline for whatever reason. I have no idea if it has been rebooted since or if the password problem is related.
