I'll believe it when I see it. I suspect I'll still be stuck on the curb doing nothing.

Wait, I thought those new Demigods had only just gone to the testers. They're already balanced and ready to go?

*Edit - Nope, nevermind, the DG's won't be part of 1.2. Figures.

Yeah, patch 1.2 only puts the DLC system in place over which every player will receive the Demigods after testing.

What about the invalid gamestate bug, the Torch Bearer autoattack bug, and the Erebus potion bug?

Perhaps you've forgotten what company is developing Demigod, or what engine it uses.

but honestly pink. im sure a man of your obvious intelligence could appreciate the fact that a game that doesn't sell many copies is less likely to garner (sufficient) post-release support, right?

business is business.

What makes you think that GPG does not deserve to get called on that decision? When a company says, "We didn't make enough money on that buggy, incomplete game we released, so screw it," they greatly damage their reputation and lose customers. That is a legitimate criticism, and it deserves to be mentioned whenever the subject comes up. They earned the dark cloud hanging over their heads.

Likewise, a company saying, "We didn't make enough money on that buggy, incomplete game we released, but we're going to make it right before we move on," is a legitimate point of praise that should also be mentioned whenever the subject comes up. Customer service is what separates good companies from bad ones, and being on the correct side of that equation is how you build a solid customer base.

One path saves you money now, while the other builds your image and makes you money later. Only one of them burns bridges, though. Can you tell me which path GPG chose when they relegated DG to backburner status in favor of SC2 and DS3 development?

Also, who is responsible for the low sales that you say created this situation to begin with? Who is responsible for the need for considerable post-release support? Who is responsible for the lack of a demo for months after release? Who is responsible for the lack of modding support? Who is responsible for the terrible AI? Who is responsible for the ridiculous Item balance? Who is responsible for the terrible net code that killed this game at launch? Who is responsible for the laughable pathfinding? Who had the gall to release a Gamer Bill of Rights, and then horrifically violate it? Who is developing new games and asking us to support them in the future? Who is that PKC? Who?

you mean THQ right? i dont expect a company that is circling the drain to throw good money after bad. sure, it'd be nice and all but business is business.

if you are attempting to imply all these issues are GPGs fault, then you would be mistaken. but i can see there's no competing with the nerd butthurt.

I think if gpg had the cash they would support better but as pkc said, business is business.
on the bright side I don't think frogboy would post a date in a journal unless he was confident of making it....depending on qa.

btw anyone think it will be possible to add a demigod using(graphically) the supcom acu units? is it allowed from a legal perspective?

screw legality; that's exactly what i've been planning on doing.

it's Lua, so i can code the units myself if i have to. all i'd need is a kind modeler convert the *.scm and *.sca files to Granny.

[PS:] if you want to actually go about discussing such a mod; PM me your Googlewave addy (yes, they're hard to get).

There is no "the invalid gamestate bug". Desyncs can occur by a number of things, including bugs in the game and maybe not all of them have been discovered yet. However, GPG was able to reproduce one instance and Sorian said he had high hopes for a fix in 1.2.

Torch Bearer Autoattack Bug is being addressed in 1.2. Erebus potion bug too hopefully.

remember how we were promised one year of free support after release?

Funny how that year is fast drawing to a close and so far we've only gotten 1 full patch, 1 promised patch, and 1 promised DLC.

I wonder how much 1.2 will cost us...

This. Plus I would happily pay for some good new 3v3 maps...
