Some pieces of news:
According to the latest issue of PC gamer, Supcom 2 will take place 25 years after FA. That will leave me some wiggle room which I'm glad for. It also hints that the war resumes because of us (humans). It should make things interesting.
I should also be able to update the information thread tomorrow with new character profiles. There will be a LOT of characters involved in book 10, enough that you guys might have forgotten a few
Lastly, Bagby drama aside, I really wish real life had the Cybran *method* for showing who's actively searching for a relationship. It's just wishfull thinking on my part, but it sure would make things easier in this very complicated world

It is also a good opportunity for GPG/Square Enix to change the factions completely. I would doubt that any of the old characters would still be in that game (maybe the champions, but Square Enix might have given them names, which are not the same names as yours).
I guess we have to wait until that story comes up...

Here's what I guess would happen after FA:
Spoiler alert
Cybran It's not like most of the nodes to stick around and fight someone else's war now that their intimidate survival is no longer threatened. the middle of a civil war is hardly a place for them to exercise their newly earned freedom. Most of the Cybran people are likely to undergo exodus from known space to seek fortune and adventure among the stars. Riding into the sunset, in the other words.
Aeon The Aeon might have a hard time reconciling their philosophy with reality of civil war. The nation would fracture just as the princess and the avatar has feared. Tired of war, The majority of Aeon populace will make it their priority to escape the civil war. Perhaps by joining the alliance.
Alliance The alliance is founded by the three factions to counter the Seraphim invasion and has since then became the unwitting spiritual successor of the Earth Empire. The alliance is held together by the former UEF people, and also contain Symbionts attracted to its cosmopolitan culture and Aeon Refugees escaping the war. It has inherited the steward fortitude of its predecessors and very little of its bigotry. The alliance would heavily fortify its borders in order to prevent spillover from the ongoing Aeon civil war, as well as engage in large scale recolonization of the core world. The constant arrival of refugees had the fortunate side effect of making this easier.
Seraphim After the defeat of the war cult. The surviving Serphim in the heavy realm are faced with daunting task of returning home. Fortunately for them, the slow unconscious reconnection to the way after denouncing the war allow them to restore a faction of their godlike power. This allow them to stay one step ahead of angry humans who have suffered at their hands. But they journey home is by no mean a walk in the park.
QAI The QAI has slowly evolved into an emergent consciousness of the quantum network. After been forgotten by the Seraphim, the QAI continue to carry out its last command to exterminate humans. This automatically translates into an believable amount of grief to all human factions. Fortunately for the stranded Serphims, these random brutal attacks take a lot of pressure and attention off their backs.

Chapter 2 Hour of Grief is now online!
This should get most of the sappy stuff out of the way for a while.

Quote: The tide of the war had turned; the Princess’s awakening having caused an uproar within the Order of the Illuminate. Kael had founded her empire upon the principle that Rhiza and her followers had murdered their beloved spiritual leader and that only the Seraphim could save humanity. With the lie exposed for what it was, pilots who had harnessed doubts over the Seraphim’s heartless methods had broken away and were fighting their former masters all over the galaxy. Even the Champion, one of the heroes of the Infinite War, had return to the battlefield, bringing renewed hope to all that fought alongside her. "Harnessed" should be "harbored".

Yep, that sounds as lot better. Thanks!

Well, that tears it. Bagby's decided to go solo. This is going to get ugly very quickly. Graves Registration is going to be busy soon. Good hunting Bagby.

Awesome, I demand the next chapter to be called "The Bagby Strikes Back" or "Revenge of the Bagby"

A few lines could use minor improvements.
Quote: “I know that his demeanor is unusual, but he is a trusted friend. His heart is true and kind. I have learned much form him and he…” Their discussion was interrupted by the sound of footsteps and both pilots turned towards the noise. It was Cybran Commando; Sjet if Desjar recalled corrected. The figure in front of Slate did not answer and had the initial summon not come from Bagby’s quarters then Slate might not even have recognized him.

I bet Bagby is trying to steal an ACU. But with just one ACU he will have little chance breaching QAI/Hex5's stronghold. the only thing he needs to do leave some trace to where he went (which he did) and hold out until Cybran nation launches an all out offensive to rescue him .
Hopefully he doesn't die trying. That'd be awful.

Wow, that for sure is a cliffhanger
A spelling correction at the beginning of the chapter:
Quote: Even the Champion, one of the heroes of the Infinite War, had return to the battlefield, bringing renewed hope to all that fought alongside her. Should be Quote: Even the Champion, one of the heroes of the Infinite War, had returned to the battlefield, bringing renewed hope to all that fought alongside her.

Ok I was a bit skeptic about jumpin this far into it straightaway but heh, I see why now and yav done this part good.
Bagby goin all Assumpta mode is uh-oh. I guess it confirms the previous story too, heh.

Think how much hell Redfog raised in a single ACU, and that was with nothing but rage and hatred fueling him, heh. Doin it stealthy but badass style still gets places. I assume some torturing is going to happen to Hex 5's associates until he finds out where he is, heh.
And aye the stealing an ubered up ACU and blowing **** up would fit, imagine Bagby with the microwave beam? Spesh with the screamer config. ;O I wonder if he'll call in any favours from Redfog, he may appreciate his methods he's about to apply, he might even lend him an Assumpta model perfectly suited to the task.
The description o the atmosphere within the base was absolutely perfect also, can tell its been a rough few months (or whatever) for em. Sam dying, titan blowing up, almost getting wiped out completely, then dostya dying too, ouch.
Also shows the elements o the civilisation style ya built up for em many books ago, as in with the loss of Sam all the UEF guys were probs hit hard, but probs did a salute and got on with it, but the Cybrans are a much more close family even if not blood related, the bonds between each other were all that kept em surviving for so long so they take the hit harder than most. Ironic when the UEF are the standard "humans" and the Cybrans are the "zomg cyborgs", yet are the ones showin more emotion, heh, really fits though.
Also lol at the image of a young slender loyalist lass ripping a door off, bet that sobered em up.
Nice chapter dude, lookin forward to more, how ya really go back and cover all the bits we've missed in detail tho.

...Assumpta Bagby... No holding back... I almost feel sorry for Hex-4. Almost.
Now we finally know who it is that raids the seven-hand node and gains the information about Pearl-2. (well, not for sure, but it seems very likely)

I'll make the corrections, update the information thread and respond to everyone's post and PMs tomorrow. I just spent the whole day setting up a 300 pound support frame at a friend's house, so I'm pretty beat at the moment

I hope Bagby finds a way to give Hex-5 multiple bodies, or revive him or something, so he can get tortured to death many, many times

Can't you just find some construction engineers to do that? Hey the Cybrans can build whole nodes in one day, surely you must be able to do something similar on a smaller scale?
