Also, you may find that a fast Monkey by the FA team would rape the Vanilla team. At T2 bot spam would heavily outclass them with FA's mobile shields. On a 1v1 ranked scale, all of the factions were improved especially Coms are much more powerful. There's no way they could fight off a Paragon.
heh yeah, Navy would also rape them, sub hunters + barricades anyone?
Its quite obvious that they've drastically improved FA's unit technology to fight off the Sephys, just like how Dots has incorporated it into the story.
And yay, good work dude with these early releases, long as its not rushed, alls good. Can't wait to read it.

Oh, I just remembered something from watching the FA intro. When you finally get around to Sam's death, make something funny happen. Since if the Seraphim ACU was dumb enough to blow up a nuke (UEF ACU) on a very high platform above the ground, the structural damage should send the idiot plummeting to the planet.
Maybe that should be Seraphim defeat #2, death by buildings.

Because they TOTALLY built something that can handle ACU fights, and didn't think to make it withstand thermonuclear explosions? This is the year ~3,000 ffs!

Heh, "broken balance," remember? ACU nukes were 70k originally.
Besides, it's just an idea, so settle down there Isik.

Give him space dudes, I want it as much as anyone else, but I'd rather it be awesome than shite through rushing things.

One small step for man.
One giant leap for getting killed by seripum.
Also more proof that UEF are turtles.

Very good chapter. Any time Bagby's confused, you've got to wonder what's going to happen next. It's good to see that the Cybrans and the UEF are becoming more comfortable with each other. There's hope for the Alliance in that. It looks like the Seraphim are getting ready to open a big can of Whoopass on Sam and her forces. Let's hope it brings the rest of the UEF into the Alliance without too much bloodshed.
Thanks for another marvelous chapter to this story dots. Keep 'em coming.
Marc

Brilliant!
Almost jumped out me seat with the "Missile hit but its still coming!", was like WTF? Ahhhhh, Sephy experimental nuke that takes two....O shi!
heh, fecking great work there Dots at slowly steppin up the pace and tension to get back into the battling, (along with some character/alliance development also) and then gradually bringing the FA prototype units in such as that with the Sephy nuke, and then even showing the thought processes that brough up the requirements for them, such as Aeon Auroras pwning UEF T1, counter = mongoose, and the Ravager being developed for use against the Colossus and other heavily armored enemies, following the requirements to further fortify the uberstronghold they have there with bigger and better turtle defenses.
Also ooo the Sephys are getting sneaky, traditional Alien style attack, using the moon, heh. Really could have imagined everyones faces when the first missile didn't stop the Sephy nuke though.
Some amusing parts with Bagby and so on there too as usual, heh with Valerie and the non PG13 stuff, and the "I'm sorry for wanting to kill or maim you in any way", lol! Redfog's ominous advice went well there to set the scene of something always going to shite.
Also I assume Fletcher was in the group that was cut off? Just after he'd got permission to puruse as well, great timing by the Sephy's there, using QAI to feck up the communications and cover up that their retreats been cutoff, right after they were getting overconfident as well, they probably wouldn't even realise it till they tried to gate back. This should shock the UEF defenders back to the reality of just how intelligent and cunning the Sephys are, specially when they have QAI to offer advice and calculations, the Cybrans lost a massive planning resource there.
Great chapter there, well worth the wait as usual. Keep the pace stepped up to get back into the awesome battling again, with the Sephys unleashing whatever plan for absolute pwnage they have stored and oof, this book will easily match the others in awesomeness.

I'd have to recheck, but is the FA intro bridge scene going to be happening soon? Given that they couldn't gate due to a crippled Q-Network, using space transports would be perfectly viable as an escape vehicle especially for all the scientists that needs to get out of there...
This also will explain why Flecher foreshadowed there's a lot of units under development, yet the UEF only ended up with only a handful of new units in FA (since the scientists developing THOSE didn't quite make it in the end)...

wasn't Sam killed on Capella? 2 years after X day? then again i dont know what the +170 is(days? weeks?) but im pretty sure same was killed on Capella. also the Aeons havn't become part of the alliance yet, its still to early for Sam to die(unless Dots plans on doing some rewriting)

To answer a few questions real quick:
X-Day + something is in days. It's the way that the timeline was described in FA (and since the +days and actual dates did not match, I decided to use that one for simplicity reasons).
Concerning the timeline, I'm following it explicitely . Those who are looking for active spoilers only need to watch the timeline movie at the beginning of FA (but you can stay away from it if you want to keep it a surprise, hehe).
