I just added the timeline in the General information's section, curtosy of Plasma_Wolf. On a side note: whole threads are no longer being deformed if the picture is oversized? Nice! (I reshaped the picture to fit on most screens with a link to make it bigger as needed) ---Click to Expand---

Awesome, that makes a lot more sense now. On the down side, I just had a massive nostalgia attack. Time to start the third readthrough?

A question about this formula: Energy = Distance * (Energy signature ) ^ instability factor Does that mean the for very small object or data, the higher the instability factor, the smaller the transport cost ? For numbers smaller than 1, higher power result in a smaller number Just nitpicking I know. Shouldn't it be something like: Energy = Distance * (Energy signature + 1 ) ^ instability factor So there is some minimum amount of power required for the jump regardless how small the signature is.

It's completely dependent on the kind of maths you use. You might think of the fact that in some cases, you won't have a negative number. Think of the temperature in Kelvin, it never gets below zero.
For the same reason, you can create a system with numbers larger than 1, with something like a gram of iron normalized to a value of 1. Or even less than a gram of iron.
Otherwise, the unit energy signature can be defined as "x+1" already, so you'd never have the +1 part in the final equation.

Well it's a bit on the detail side but yes, it's taken for granted that the energy signature cannot go lower than 1
