sacrilegious, wait *looks up sacrilegious*. Ya, sacrilegious. *huge grin*

sveno last spoke of leaving until August, which I assumed meant he needed more time for college. Though, I'm probably reading too much into his words, and its been far too long.

If you are going to modify someone's map you really need to get their permission. Try emailing him and asking him if it he could update it for FA or if he did not want too, did not have the time, if you could do it for him.

That's really the only way to go about it imo.

I think it is fine as it is anyway. If you want more mass spots go take em from your neighbor ;)

Sveno didn't provide an e-mail adress for the public (as do most people).

If you PM a guy the forum will notify him by e-mail (unless he ticked it off in profile settings).

Ok, now I feel like an idiot. I can see them because of Mod status. They're not visible from here. Sorry.

If someone is going to update this map, is there going to be any thought put into the height of the walls and accessibility of the bases.

As it is now, the game never ends to anything but game-ender experimentals, as it is virtually impossible to attack via either sea or land. If the walls didn't exist, this map might actually be fun to play.

Perhaps I'm date'ing myself, but at the time that this map was released, it was _the_ best custom map out there. This was because Sveno was working ahead of the curve, using tools (imaging, text editors, and HazardX's mapping utility) and techniques that were then undocumented.
Many of us stood on the sidelines waiting for GPG's promised editor. Too bad we were expecting a WCIII quality editor.

I beg to differ, but I do believe it is fun, regardless.

I understand that some people prefer extremely defensive gameplay, but it's not my cup of tea.

It just seems like a pity since the heightmap and texture work of this map are extremely good, one of the best I've seen. Kind of pisses me off that the actual gameplay is just sitting in your base and not roaming around in that brilliant work.

The most epic games I had on Battle Isle R2 involved early T1 bombing runs on mass fab farms, lots of Salems walking into the enemy base, sneaking T3 subs behind the base to snipe the enemy and T3 bot and SCUs drops into or in front of the enemy base.

I can hear the music. Sounds like a symphony.

well, i havent gotten a reply yet, not that i expect to. imo this is abandoned, so i think somebody should make this fa able, and give credit. i see no harm in it. i would keep it as is though, the map is what it is and should remain true to the original. i always thought this was one of the best maps in the game, gpg or outside built.

You can play it in FA too.

For those who haven't realized this yet: when you're in GPGnet in FA mode on the front page, simply click on "Battle Isles R2" under "Most downloaded maps". You will be able to download it for FA this way (and the map itself works fine in FA).

Or download the map in SC mode, then go to FA mode and open the Vault, go to "My Content" and select "Battle Isles R2" and download it from there.

Or double click a custom game in which Battle Isles R2 is already selected and download it from there.

Or download the map in SC mode, and then simply copy the map to the equivalent FA map folder (but this way it won't be recognized in "My Content", which is only a technicality).

Greatest map ever!

I'm thinking of writing a guide about it!

People: please don't add extra mass spots, the whole idea of this map is massfabbing and pizza delivery's(destroys massfabs), and while some of you fear the day of vanilla, here the fabs are very well balanced.
