I'm looking for maps I can play with my friend against the AI. We do not use Sorian AI so I'm unsure if I need a map that has AI markers or not (don't know what this is really). We want a few team oriented maps with AI support for Forged Alliance. Thank you for your time.

If you want to play maps with AI support then the map itself must have markers. These markers are used by the AI to navigate over the map. Every AI (stock, duncane, sorian) needs AI markers to function properly.

Maps without markers are not playable versus AI.

Since more people have asked for maps with AI support over the past 2 years I think it would be nice if mappers give a reply in this topic with links to their AI Supported Maps.

Check my signature for a few maps with AI support. I don't know how the Stock AI (the default game AI) will function since I only played my maps with Duncane and Sorian AI.

Are you playing Supcom+FA through steam and want to play with Sorian's AI then get his latest version that has Steam Support.

Thank you for the information. I'll check out both of your maps, but I'd like some larger (10x10 or 20x20) maps as well. Neither of us like Sorian AI much for a number of reasons so we'd rather not get anything requiring that mod specifically.

I'd like to hear about maps with AI markers too, especially stuff 20km and up.

I'd be interested to find out what it is that bothers you about the Sorian AI. I have worked extensively with both Sorian and the stock AI, and seriously - the stock AI is like stealing candy from a child. Not that the Sorian AI is perfect, but it's quite dynamic and adapts to multiple situations in a way the stock AI does not.

I played a bit more and found I do actually much prefer the Sorian AI.

Hi,

you can always ADD to maps (or modify) the AI markers easy with the Marker Editor,
its support SC and SC:FA AI markers so it is possible to add to SC maps the advantage SC:FA markers to get the AI better ...
If you have the marker installed and a map loaded WITH markers already you get an overview how this is working.
(its simply only important points and routes for the AI)

Thank you for the very useful information! Where do I access the Marker Editor? Is it part of some map editor I'm unaware of? So from what you said FA maps have better AI than the standard SC1 maps? If this is true and I cannot figure out the editor, how do I know which maps have the better AI?

With the FA AI, he get few extra points to react better (maybe :P ) ....
At default - SC maps dont have this extra points and the AI cant use it and play without this extra informations ... in theorie the AI "should" play better with the extra points/marker (only FA - the SC AI dont know to handle this ...)

It depends heavy on the "knowing" of ther person who set the AI marker ...
If he understand FA play and at special - the AI play style good then he set the points in an way, the AI can get very challanging ... but have seen maps who the markers was set way off from usefull for the AI ... and then the best AI cant get to full power if you dont get here the right informations ...
