Hello, i've made a few simple, and small maps with hazard's unofficial map editor, but it seems that the official editor has more features and would make the process easier, with a better end result. However when i've tried to use the official map editor (downloaded through reddev's vault mirror as i have no access to the Vault) it would load, and then immediately crash when I tried to load a map.
Yes I did unzip the map editor to the Supreme Commander bin folder. Not FA.
Yes I did close the game before trying to open a map.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to run the Map Editor as admin + winXP compatibility mode (sp3)?

I just tried running as admin, with the compatibility mode enabled. No change.
The application opens, but as soon as I go to load a map, it crashes. I never get to see the map.

Any help at all? I have no idea what could be causing the problem. It just keeps crashing whilst loading a map. Even if i try to create a new map.

I know that if you try to open an FA map you will get that behaviour - have you tried opening one of the original maps - like Blasted Rock ?

Yes, it crashes immediately. Does it not like Win7?

I use Win7 64 and it works fine - but I do recall that something else had to be installed (can't remember what now) - such as MS .Net

It is a problem install, but once it works, it works decently.

If i try to install MS .NET it wont install because i have a better version of it

Ok, I know that this is an old post, but I came across it while looking for another answer and noticed that it never was answered.

Luckdemon, I was having a similar problem until I realized that I was not at the latest version of supreme commander (only played Forged Alliance since re install). Have you gone to here and updated your supreme commander to the latest version?
