I like the new layout, except for the grey on the sides... You could just give us an option somewhere in our profile for the background pic/color...

Also, (as JetFighter said) why is the button bar on the bottom (Home | Games | Company |...) silver/grey and the same bar (without "Support") at the top black...

Changing the background color of the forumbody div to black helps a lot imo.

The previous limit was 60K as well. And don't -WHATEVER YOU DO- DON'T lower this limit. If you want to know why, take a look at the fanfiction section. I found out by accident what the limit was and I'm sure that others will hit and have hit this limit.

An additional theme to select would be nice.

Any webpage where you are going to be spending more than a few minutes on should not have bright colors. It is bad for the eyes, like staring into a flashlight.

No it's not. Your monitor's backlight is not the same as staring into a flashlight. In a way it's the other way around. If you look at white text on black background for a while, the lines of text "burn" into your eye, the same way as a bright light does (noticeable if you look away from the text, you'll see dark lines in your vision for a short time).

Furthermore some (admittedly old) studies have shown, that people can read dark letters on bright background more accurately than the other way around. This is the reason why:

Personally I also enjoy white text on dark-gray background, like on the insidesupcom.de forum or the Steam forum. But I don't like white on black. In all fairness though: the GPG forum is at least gray on black.

other than that, I've tweaked things on my end to a level that I'm happy with.

Yes, I speak from personal experience having my eyes blur and hurt because of some stupid web designer's decision to put disgustingly bright pages for me to look at. I've left forums specifically for that reason, especially late at night it can actually physically hurt to look at bright webpages for extended periods of time...

Well, my eyes are more strained on the GPG forum than on the other forums I visit.

Though your eyes aren't "damaged" either way.

The constrast adds to the eye strain. Which is why the more comfortable forums don't use either white on black or black on white.

Unfortunately, between this site (old and new format) and Square Enix's forums, we get the worst of both worlds as far as extremes.

If possible, whitish text on a neutral (e.g., grey, brown) background would be an improvement over the current whitish text on black.

p.s. URL text labels appear in a smaller size than the body text of a post? See that link above for what I mean. Please make URL, CODE, LIST, etc. text size match the default body text size.

Lots going on this morning so I'll get to all the issues, but this one is an issue on our end, SMTP server is not a happy camper today. I'll get it fixed as soon as I can.

This should be fixed now.

i cant find my favourite button? the "View your Threads" and "view unanswered threads" buttons, which used to reside where the "mark this forum as read" is now

i dont care for the view unanswered threads button but the "view your threads" Was awesome and i used it all the time... where is it?

You may have been getting that error due to the forums still working on it's indexing

FA General and SupCom General seem to have been combined.
