Exactly. The units were also built faster when you constructed more factories.

At that time it was kind of the way to simulate constructing more units at the same time because you have more factories.

It is in fact exactly the same, apart form the fact that the build queue is a general one and not a single one for each factory, so you can't easily determine where your units should come from (setting a factory as primary solves that but it's a lot of work to do that every single time).

Still, it was a very good system at the time. Though it's outdated now.

It's really not the same thing. When the enemy is in your base, it's much better to have 3 factories that individually churn out 3 units, rather than having them come out one by one (and killed one by one) at three times the rate.

Well, the main problem with it is that the increase in production rate wasn't quite commensurate with the cost of adding more production facilities.

If you had one factory, things would take 100% of their normal time to build.
If you had two, it was like 80%. It wouldn't double production speed, not even close.

That was some what of a weird thing, but i guess since T sun was my first RTS i played, it never bothered me. Once i moved to other titles and also generals, i started to enjoy being to produce from as many buildings as you had.

Still, in T sun it did serve a purpose, as it is much slower paced than cnc 3 is for example.

I think units were built faster the more factories/barracks you had.

Aye. If you had multiple barracks you could create infantry units faster etc.

Just like in RA1, I may add. Though strangely enough, I believe RA2 discarded this mechanic. All you could do with more rax in RA2, was determine where your infantry would pop out.

In RA2 you could build with every individual factory, just like in most recent RTS.

Lies, no you couldn't. The building queues in RA2 worked exactly like all the previous C&C games.

Huh, you're right. I must be confusing it with that abomination that's RA3 then.

What was wrong with RA3? as a RTS it was actually pretty good, and balanced well enough. The art direction and story i might agree with you though...

Well, it can't get any worse than C&C4, right? ... right?
No seriously, it can't get worse - that's almost impossible.

If they intend to actually make it use Origin tho, then all of my interest is reduced to nothing and they can keep their ****.

The continued r4pe of the C&C franchise makes me sad.

Its like the C&C series was a hot young girl who has been sold as a sex slave to EA who pimped her out to everyone. Making her blow goats on film for a fix, feeding her on nothing but generic potato waffles.

Why are you calling CnC:G2 r4pe already? Or are you talking about the previous EA-released games?

Definitely about the previous EA released games.
Also, I'm definitely expecting CnC2:G2 to be more of the same crap that we've seen since EA got hold of the CnC franchise.
I'm not expecting anything good to come from this.

Hating EA is the cool thing to do.

But often quite justified as well.

Same with the US, or at least the government.

Link appears to be dead, anyone got a new one?

Personally I liked Generals. Its the last game under the C&C name that I actually enjoyed. While the storylines are still nice in the newer ones the gameplay isn't worth the box they are shipped in imo.

Though I remember the Reborn mod (of which I still have 3 versions lying around somewhere) for the original C&C Generals that pissed EA off by replacing the opening EA video with a "Tribute to Westwood" video. It didn't get the a C&D but got a rather rude letter from someone in their marketing department
