THE BOTTOM OF THE ******* OCEAN LOL, hahah that is epic. regabond wrote: Yea sounds like a classic memory leak. Hope that gets fixed real fast. yea, disabled the texture pack and it is fine, i still get a crash about every 30-45 mins. new map generation thingy seems to be pretty neat, walked over a hill and was greeted with a very very large plain and field with a lotta cows and sheep roaming around. also rega, GOGOGO http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/514000-api-minecraft-forge/also: anyone know if there is an MCMMO type mod for Singleplayer?

As far as I could tell, there is not a SSP awesome RPG mod.
So that link wasn't super clear, but does it allow us to use normal mods or something?

the forge or w/e is called basically removes the sprite limit on the game, allowing us to run Buildcraft, Industrial Craft, Better than Wolves, and basically most any other mod together, no idea how well/if it works with bukkit or bukkit mods

Oh, that's pretty sweet. Can't wait to see how mods will adapt to 1.8 then.

aside from a Stone Brick stairs texture issue and having to shut down the game every 30-45 mins i have yet to run into any serious problems. Food isn't a problem and it isn't like you have to eat every 5 mins. Havn't encountered any of the new mob yet.

Minecraft 1.8: Getting lost in abandoned mines edition :/
EDIT: I sometimes get memory leaks if I'm switching over to a 128x128 texture, but not otherwise.
I've seen endermen and cave spiders in my new game, but no silverfish as I don't know where to find a stronghold.

So is the denser fog capable of being modded out or is it hardcoded?

No clue about the fog. It really is only an issue if you build a huge cleared out room at bedrock though.
Haven't found any mineshafts, strongholds, or villages yet. Seen plenty of endermen though.
Been using maps pretty seriously for my explorations though.
Also I figured out a way around the memory leak. Just turn all your settings down. Like Fast instead of Fancy, maybe Normal view distance and such. Haven't crashed since and played for hours.

I've come across a Mineshaft. Of course this was BEFORE I knew about the freaking cave spiders!
I will say, the new terrain, above and below ground is very nice, with the more varied trees a forest really feels like a forest. There also seems to be a lot more cave system and they're a lot more varried as well.
Endermen....*shudder* they're unsettling, luckily I've only encountered them in an open air cave right by some water, but i was all like, thats that blue stuff in that cave OH MY GOD *Looks away*

I love how oceans are actually significantly large now. Finally can build an island fortress that isn't just in the middle of a puddle.
Also bukkit needs to updaaaaaaaaaate.

Loving this update for the most part, haven't had any crashing from that memory leak so far.
Are you still running that server, regabond? I'd love to explore a new epic map with you guys.

I am still running the server, but haven't updated it just yet. I might do that tomorrow, but when I do I'll mention it here.

This memory leak problem is quite a bit worse than I could've imagined.
I've gotten it a couple of times now..
If you are holding something with your mouse in your inventory while you get a memory leak... gone.
EDIT: I'm getting memory leaks all the time now... the ****?

Have you tried reducing your settings? And maybe using OpenGL mode?

I turned that setting on (OpenGL) first thing, could this be why I haven't seen these issues? regabond wrote: I am still running the server, but haven't updated it just yet. Server is up and running, we started in a swamp. Whitelisting should still be functioning as well, I just kept the old whitelist file.
