As many of you have noticed, we are sprucing up the forums with lots of graphics and color.
There are a few topics that we don't have decent banners for, and we want to open it up to anyone who would like to submit something for any or all of them.
Here are the constraints:
Width: 890 pixels Height: 100 pixels Font: Verdana Format: PNG (preferred) or JPEG (acceptable)
Here are the forums that we need banners for:
Mod Development and Discussion Technical Support Off-Topic Discussion Forum Administration
Feel free to reply to this post with your submissions, opinions, and/or votes on submissions and we will wrap up the nominations on Wednesday, April 7th.
A couple of semi-obvious guidelines are to avoid any copyrighted material (other than our stuff new and old, obviously), and make them colorful in keeping with our new style. We reserve the right to veto and/or delete any submissions that aren't in good taste.
Spread the word and get those master artists out there to leave an indelible mark on our Forums!

Mod Banner (In the style of that one signature I made a while back with the Space Marine -- Same background even!) As a shout-out, all of the code in the middle of the banner is from DeadMG's programming thread. WIP -- Subject to change.

The background (especially the ACU) in that picture looks pretty good, but the tools feel slightly out of place.

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/T ... Banner.pngI approve of this one. [EDIT:] upon further thought, maybe change the ACU to an actual wireframe shot of one? I'm sure Orange Mike could get you a capture of that.

Maybe I should ask Mod Development what they want in a banner?
...Or does everyone in Mod Dev. look at Off-Topic?

Edit: BulletMagnet wrote: upon further thought, maybe change the ACU to an actual wireframe shot of one? I'm sure Orange Mike could get you a capture of that. I just let Illustrator rip on the the cover shot of Supreme Commander. Anything would be better than what it is now, really. It worked well for the Demigod shot because of the heavy lines in the image I used. The ACU doesn't have much contrast.

This summarizes Off-Topic pretty well, but it's probably copywritten by whoever made it soooo

You should make some magic smoke leak out of those ICs Yup, because we know it. ICs work on smoke. When the smoke comes out, it doesn't work anymore

I think that pic would work better as Tech Support.

How about something like this? But much better than what I just cooked up of course.

I think all the banners, not just these, need some kind of border, to me its kinda jarring the way its set up now.

Now you posted that, I'd found out that I'd like to have a bit less white in the banners
